I wouldn't fancy wiring this connector up😱! Inside the Hirose connector of the 100 way #Quantel Dylan cable that connects your Quantel Editbox, Henry or Hal to it's Dylan disk array.

This was created by a video animator, who admitted it and showed how he did it. Stop lying.

@mrjeffknox Yup, they likely used a Quantel Paintbox that was able to record 12 seconds in one go, and had 3D perspective effects and a 3D sphere was part of the library of standard objects twitter.com/DextersTechLab…

#Quantel Harriet launch video. Introduced in 1990, Harriet was a Paintbox with the addition of a Carousel / Ramcorder unit which could real time record and playback digital video at 27 MB / Second. The two together could make animations & rotoscoping effects upto 12 seconds long.

Spent the whole weekend completely rewiring and cleaning my office. I’m so sore I can barely move but it was worth it!

Recording a clip of uncompressed SDI video onto a #Quantel HAL and Dylan disk array from 1995 (with 20 @zuluscsi solid state disks). HAL was launched in 1993 and turned into a post-production tool for making moving TV graphics, compositing and effects throughout the 1990s.

@IsItBroke Can you point to it? 🤣 Joking aside though, the data from 4 of these 20 scsi drives is getting lost somewhere. That results in the two diagonal lines on the image. The out of sync video is just me being lazy and not syncing the quantel to the camera.
