MY TOP 5 FAVORITE COMMITS OF THE 2027 D1 SOFTBALL CLASS #2 Lilly Sifrit to Arizona State Lilly Sifrit had options…The Elida, Ohio native was sought after by more than 10 Power 4 programs but decided to commit 1,868 miles from her hometown. Arizona State won over the 5-tool athlete from Unity TJ near the end of September. Lilly is a 5 ‘10 left-handed batter who is lethal in her short game, slapping, and can swing away. Her power swing is focused on rapid hands, snappy torque, and lower half strength to hammer the ball. A gap-to-gap line drive hitter and has shown exit velocities in the mid to high 70s. Not only is her bat nauseating, but she also causes chaos on the bases with her long, long strides (2.76 home to 1B last summer) and high IQ to mess with defenses. Lilly is a unicorn defender. Primarily a catcher due to her laser arm and range, she can make a difference in the outfield or be a big target at first base. Here is a quote from Lilly’s commitment post on X that perfectly sums up her talent, confidence, and hunger. “My next mission is to help Arizona State win a Big 12 title and win a national championship. They call me a game changer so that’s what I’m going to do.” Arizona State will be in good hands when Lilly steps on campus. Read all about 1-5 here open.substack.com/pub/diamondadd…

MY TOP FIVE FAVORITE COMMITS OF THE 2027 D1 SOFTBALL CLASS #3 Addison DeRoche to Florida State There have been 1,000+ commitments and to this day Addison DeRoche remains the only 2027 from the state of Maine. The tantalizing two-way talent went to visits with Alabama, Oregon, and Texas A&M before committing to Florida State on October 3rd. Addison has been playing for Tennessee Mojo, a premier club with a high success rate of players going to Power 4 programs. Addison will join her Mojo teammate Ava Lorenzatti who committed to the Seminoles in their 2026 class. Addison confuses hitters with her rises, drop, and masterful changeup. The right hander throws mid to high 60s. It is rare Addison has a tough outing. Even if Addison allows a few runs, she has the bat to change a game with one swing. She makes pitchers work, loves to advance runners, but is more contact than power right now. Florida State might want to keep Addison strictly in the circle since she will be a star ace. One thing is clear though: Seminoles recruited a dominating player. Addison will do Maine proud. Read all about 1-5 here open.substack.com/pub/diamondadd…

MY TOP FIVE FAVORITE COMMITS OF THE 2027 D1 SOFTBALL CLASS #1 Lorelei Gamble to Texas Lorelei (Lolo) Gamble committed to Texas on September 7. It was a simple decision for the Dripping Springs native who grew up less than 30 minutes from the campus in Austin. Lorelei became a polarizing prospect with her defense first. A mature catcher with a blazing arm to gun runners trying to steal, elite framing and blocking, while being a commanding leader who controls the game. The emergence of Lorelei’s bat the last few years has made her one of the top prospects in the class. Now 6 foot tall and extremely strong, the ball is jumping off her bat. She has a professional approach in every plate appearance and the raw power to wreck softballs; 23 homers, 66 RBIs, and an eye-popping .720 OBP during her sophomore season at Dripping Springs. Watching Lorelei hit reminds me of Aaron Judge: imposing in the box, ability to crush pitches anywhere near with her short and sweet powerful swing, a pitcher’s worst nightmare. With one and half years until she arrives on campus, Lorelei will continue to develop with Texas Blaze en route to being a day 1 starter for the Longhorns. MY TOP 5 FAVORITE COMMITS OF THE 2027 D1 SOFTBALL CLASS #4 Kynlee Arechiga to Texas A&M Kynlee Arechiga of La Porte, Texas announced her commitment to Texas A&M on September 15th. Kynlee is teammates with Mia Martinez on Jackson’s 18u Impact Gold. And similar to Mia, Kynlee hits tanks from the left side of the plate. Kynlee has jaw dropping pull and opposite power. Pitchers will only throw inside to her once before they learn. Because of this, Kynlee hunts the middle to outside pitch. Her left center field home runs are eerily comparable to those of Juan Soto. Even though the load is reserved, she brings explosiveness upon contact. The enormous amount of quality at bats is what impresses me the most. It takes humility for a capable power hitter to work counts, be patient, and even take the walk. Many softball juggernauts were after Kynlee’s services for these reasons, including LSU, but she ultimately stays close to home by choosing College Station. Kynlee is a shortstop, but I think she will suit more comfortably at 3rd base in college. The range and arm are well above average to play both at a high level. It does not really matter as long as that bat is in the middle of the lineup. Texas A&M will be forever grateful they were chosen by Kynlee @KynleeArechiga1 Read full article below to see all five open.substack.com/pub/diamondadd…
