South Australia final results are in. Labor won overwhelmingly (as expected), but Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party did BETTER than expected, winning 3 upper house seats and 4 lower house seats, for a total of 7. The Liberal Party? 2 upper house, 5 lower house, for a total of... 7. That's right, One Nation won THE SAME number of seats as the Liberal Party did in the 2026 South Australian State Election. To everyone who assured themselves the rise of One Nation wasn't real, take a hike. And bring on Victoria in November...

I am still baffled at how the share of seats does not reflect the first preferences even remotely: ALP got 37.6% of votes but got 72.3% of seats One Nation got 22.5% of votes, but got 8.5% of seats Liberals got 19.4% of votes and got 10.6% of seats Independents got 4.8% of votes yet got 8.5% of seats. I am not an expert in the subject but looking at the numbers it would appear that the system is being gamed and some groups of people get much more seats per vote than other groups?
