@STP_Eagles You are also doing your kid a disservice by eliminating a year of work life from them by holding them back for athletic purposes Your daughter is unlikely to earn a living playing any sport so holding a female back for this reason is absolutely ridiculous

The New NCAA 5 Year Eligibility Rule is a FULL endorsement of reclassing prior to college. It states the window starts “upon initial enrollment OR your 19th birthday”. Our daughter is 17 entering college and in the future that will be completely abnormal. If your student athlete is not on pace to be a 19 year old college freshman, you are doing the kid a disservice. For everyone doing math that means kids should start pre K at 5 years old.

And every class since then can argue they were screwed because there were less roster spots for them Now thanks to NIL and roster limits there are even less spots available The situation for them has not been extreme If you played 4 years then your time is up Most football players have at least a redshirt year if they enrolled in D1 out of HS It’s highly unlikely, there will be many football players that actually play as a freshman and play for five years. The vast majority of guys that are good enough to play considerable amounts of time as a freshman, who would not have qualified for a red shirt year, would not stay in college for five years anyway. So we really are only talking about basketball because not many players red shirt in basketball unless there is an injury.

@DocMichaelHood @heitner Absolutely heaviest burden. Everyone has forgotten what a $#it show Covid was. The situation for 2022 athletes was extreme. Many opted for gap yr due to recruiting coming to a complete halt, decommitments, etc. Read the link

The NCAA drew the eligibility exclusion line exactly at the class of 2022. The class that spent 4 years competing against COVID-era fifth and sixth seasons. That watched former pro players be deemed eligible. Why we are fighting: linkedin.com/pulse/newslett…

@mainlinning @haiti4eva Because he never had more than 1 player on him when he drove Please Russ averaged a 30ppg triple double in this modern great defensive scheme Please tell me how they would shut MJ down 😝

@haiti4eva Its not because of zone. Thats part of it. Its how the defense is on a string and rotating player after player. If MJ played today they would sag off of him and let him shoot fron deep. When he would drive there would be 2 or 3 help defenders at the elbows or bunker spots

Q: How does the “New 5 in 5”rule affect athletes that plan on playing a year at a D2 school with hopes to transfer to D1. Will they have 4 years of eligibility left? A: Under the new 5-in-5 rule, if an athlete plays one year at a Division II school and then transfers to Division I, they would have four seasons of eligibility remaining. The eligibility follows the athlete, not the division. They still must meet NCAA transfer and academic requirements.

@alanpalmer34 @tommyreamon Reality There isn’t a lawyer that cares about this because there isn’t money to make They pretend like they are doing this for all athletes when all they care about is billing by the quarter hour

@JaxonChaney3 @usanewshq If you want to be technical He caught the ball took a step and then dribbled That is the first violation Then he collected and took 3 steps The rule isn’t both hands on the ball The rule is the ball stops moving

@HateradeCentral @usanewshq You are 100% correct The NBA changed the definition of a travel to help increase scoring amongst a group of players that struggle to actually dribble and score without taking 3 or 4 steps and changing pivot two or three times

@usanewshq I see a lot of retards in the comments so help yall. LeBron caught the ball in mid transition then bounced the ball once and took three long strides before taking a layup. Here are the rules to traveling in the NBA:

We have a second lawsuit against the NCAA over the new age-based eligibility rule, this time a federal putative class action claim led by Cal basketball player DeJuan Campbell. Campbell alleges the new rule violates both Section 1 and Section 2 of the Sherman Antitrust Act.

Unfortunately, due to the new NCAA 5th year rule my recruitment is back open. It’s unfortunate, but I know I will end up where I meant to be. OB/CB c/o 2027 GPA: 4.67/4.0 @CoachGusMota @ImYouthSoccer

The correct way to hold people accountable is to say, this is college athletics and no one forces you to play. You do so willingly and you do so with the understanding that it is in exchange for whatever financial aid package the school offers you for school. If you want to be treated like a professional then join a professional league. If it were so true that the athlete is what generates the revenue and not the name of the university then someone would have already started a pro league that allowed players to be drafted before the nfl allows

Well Said! However.....Math is VERY hard for most of the USA population which is why so many had a hard time understanding it A player would have to graduate High School at the age of 20 for it become an issue.
Brian Klee 🏈@coachklee

People struggle with reading this wording. If a person turns 19 DURING their senior year they still have 5 years of college because it is your age at the START of an academic year: 18 HS Senior 19 Freshman 20 Sophomore 21 Junior 22 Senior 23 Graduate Year

Ohio allows 19 year olds to compete as long as they don’t turn 20 before graduation I think all other states ban 19 year old from competing during the season Most states use August 1 as the deadline All eligible athletes must be 18 or under on August 1 to compete that school year
