@ChuckWagon645 @RepThomasMassie Like all government programs it was a giant scam but regardless of what you name it, it effectively was welfare in exchange for not laying off employees, not a loan. Concepts are hard

@RepThomasMassie Strange it says this but a program fraught with fraud, given to millionaires and billionaires and “forgiven” has become expected in this country.

@RepThomasMassie By definition, it was called a LOAN. It was a LOAN program. But it is funny how you think it is fine to deceive people and really use it to give money to the rich, and think that is fine, while thinking programs to help the poor are evil. Shame on you. God stands with the poor.

@ntsbfh @RepThomasMassie Words mean things. You can name/structure it legally as a loan but if the only reason anybody took it was because they knew it wasn’t really a loan…then it’s not really a loan in any meaningful sense.

@RepThomasMassie It WAS a loan program, with qualified forgiveness built into the legislation. YOU and your cronies on Capitol Hill could have passed legislation forgiving student loans, but you failed to do so.

You should be allowed to refuse service, to anyone, for any reason. And if you didn't want to serve me, I'd rather not give you my money anyway. Another good SCOTUS decision.

@sixf33tdeep @JuuustinBrown @Tiger_Azian The real question you need to ask yourself is why a bank would feel comforting loaning a couple million 17 yr olds a sum of money they’re not likely to be able to repay any time soon?

@JuuustinBrown @Tiger_Azian I think it’s predatory to get a 17 year old to take out loans like this, if I wanted to get any other type of loan when I was 17 I would have been laughed out the door

@SCMountainGoat You forgot to tell her she's overreacting. This is a highly effective method to make her realize, whatever she's upset about, isn't that big of a deal. Also, try putting a cape on her when she's mad and say "now you're super mad!". Works every time.

Young men new to the dating scene. A little advice for when she gets mad at you. Theres a few options: 1. You can tell her to calm down. (Highly effective). 2. You can tell her she’s wrong, and then explain to her why. She will be highly receptive to this. Trust me. 3. Or you can simply ask her if she’s on her period. If she is, she will acknowledge that she’s being irrational because of her hormones, and defer to your wisdom. Follow me for more relationship advice.

@MooseHamilton @Oilfield_Rando Correct, although it’s important to note that “aligns with the right” is far more likely to be good for EVERYONE in reality than “aligns with the left” is

@Oilfield_Rando The only time you will see 9-0 is when a ruling aligned with desires of the left is legitimately the constitutional ruling. A ruling aligned with the desires of the right, no matter how blatantly the correct constitutional interpretation, will at best be 6-3. Pathetic.

Not a single liberal Supreme Court Justice thought an American shouldn’t be forced to make a gay marriage website. The left sends hardened reliable soldiers to the courts. The right sends prudent jurists. Which side wins that battle in the end?

🚨🚨BREAKING: The Supreme Court has ruled in 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis that Colorado cannot use an anti-discrimination law to force a website designer to create a website for a gay marriage.

That’s literally not what the SCOTUS said, but considering Kris has never practiced law, I’m not surprised she’s confused. Instead, the ruling confirmed that people providing expressive services cannot be compelled to use their artistic skills to say things they disagree with.
AZ Attorney General Kris Mayes@AZAGMayes

Today, a woefully misguided majority of the United States Supreme Court has decided that businesses open to the public may, in certain circumstances, discriminate against LGBTQ+ Americans.

@JDHaltigan Incredible, isn’t it? Just a shocking mix of dishonesty and stupidity, where the only real question is the exact proportions of the mix which really isn’t that interesting.

@MendlovitzMark In what universe is the practical impact of the state not being able to compel speech relatively small?

The practical impact of the Supreme Court decision in Creative LLC v. Elenis, forbidding contractors from being forced to violate their conscience, is relatively small, but the Left is flipping out because of its symbolic impact. Just like they want to force you to expose your kids to drag shows, celebrate their "Pride" events, take you out of the decision making process when it comes to your child's "transition", and many other related things, they want you to "bake the gay wedding cake" and "design the LGBTQ celebration website" whether your conscience is violated or not. This is all part of their vindictive revenge against traditional society toward which they harbor such deep resentment. Forcing you to bake the cake and build the website is rubbing your nose in it. Their motto "love is love" is a mask for a lot of intense hatred.

You don’t get to bitch about businesses being bailed out with PPP loans when you advocated for the government’s ability to shut down local and state commerce.

@hippiemama2002 @mjs_DC This is why you pass legislation in your state. That’s who the power ultimately belongs to in this matter. Live by the federal bench creating laws, die by it. Gay marriage would pass in most if not all states at this point, no? It’s at like 70% support across the country.

@RepRalphNorman I'm noting all the bluechecks in this thread saying the difference is that PPP was legislated with waiver in mind. True. But that's not the argument Norman is making. He's making an equity argument: it's not fair, etc. Try agian.

You cannot “cancel” student loans any more than you can cancel a car payment or credit card debt. That money has to come from somewhere. Proponents of this literally wanted student loan debt transferred to other people. It’s obnoxious.
