@BrandonStraka The ink jet scam is about 15 years old news, there’s no legitimate reason people need inkjet printers at home for personal reasons. Pdfs, docusign, everything can be done without printing. Just don’t buy it.

No contract. No filming. Full stop. I don't care how nice they seem on the call. I don't care if it's a small indie brand you love. I don't care if they say "we never do contracts, we just trust each other." Verbal agreements are not agreements. A DM is not a contract. Contracts protect you from: scope creep, non-payment, unauthorized usage, unlimited revisions, retroactive rate changes, and being held liable for brand claims you didn't make. Every single one of these happens to creators without contracts. Regularly.

As a former proponent for a ballot measure, I wish we could have used Docusign. It is much less expensive than paid signature gatherers and much less prone to fraud or error. Yet the Dem controlled legislature has intentionally not modernized this process in order to stifle it.

I just spoke with JJ Smith, the man who recorded the video in San Francisco showing what appears to be people experiencing homelessness being paid $5 to sign someone else’s name on a ballot petition. “I was shocked each time I saw this. I have been seeing things like this multiple times,” Smith said. He saw firsthand some people use the money to buy drugs nearby. "They are giving these people five dollars to go support their drug habits...it's going to be a never-ending cycle because people are going to do whatever they can do to get the money to support their drug habits."

@chigup36 That’s a fair exception. If the incumbent is overpriced or clunky, building the alternative is the opportunity. Sometimes disruption starts exactly where everyone else says “just use the existing tool.”

Mostly agree. But the exception is when the off-the-shelf solution IS the thing you're disrupting. Nobody told us to 'just use DocuSign.' We looked at what they charge SMBs and built something 80% cheaper. Buy when it's a tool. Build when it's the opportunity.
