This is a tough spot for Iran to be in. Iran knows Trump means it but they can't just give into his demands. The Strait is the only card they have. One the other hand, the US knocking out Iranian power plants would make a ground assault even easier. Especially at night.

It’s not logical because the war has given Iran an excuse to get weapons as self defense that they will definitely push for now. The other possible benefit you would bring up is they wouldn’t kill Americans.
