@artsyomni Oh for sure. I’d never expect them to actually adapt an RPG, I’m mostly just using it as an example of games in series with slightly more expanded stories.
The mainline games are extremely simple, and it makes sense that the movies would follow

@EMANDP98 My perspective on the Mario RPGs is that they’re kinda off-brand. And that’s to their benefit in certain ways. But to me, they’ll always feel a bit like they’re on the fringes of what I consider to be Mario’s core identity as an IP.

Some general thought about both Mario movies: While I enjoy these experiences, I think what's so confounding about these movies is that they seem to have little interest in speaking the language of cinema. It's like they have a totally different objective.

@artsyomni Personally I wish they treated Mario more seriously in terms of storytelling; the RPGs prove it can be done well. But I never really expected them to go that way, and it’s saved me disappointment with the direction they took. I just enjoy them for what they are

@artsyomni I think for their other IPs they’ll actually focus on traditional storytelling, Zelda specifically.

@artsyomni I think this is mainly Nintendo’s mindset for the Mario series specifically.
Anything Mario has to have an “interactive fun” element to it; The Legos, the theme-parks etc.
Their idea of interactivity in movie form is looking out for all the references throughout

@artsyomni Nintendo was adamant that the Legos had a “play” aspect to them, alongside the theme-park with the arm band thing. I see this the same way.
They don’t want it to be just a movie, but almost a game in of itself

Obviously I don’t feel that way anymore. If God planned for two people to be together, then their mutual attraction is also of him

Something I found interesting (besides the many sarcastic/passive aggressive replies) was that everyone agreed yes. I grew up in a Christian community that treated physical attraction as almost sinful and not wanting to be with someone because you're not attracted to as selfish.

@Stealth40k Literally the only gameplay update I’d like to see is how the field abilities work.
It was a pain to change out your equipped blades to activate the ability then change them back immediately after.
As long as you have blades in your roster with those abilities it should work

I'm very surprised Nate predicted Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Definitive Edition.
I've talked about it before. It makes sense to me.
1) It's Monolith Soft's best selling game
2) It could use QOL and technical improvements
3) Monolith Soft develops more than one game at a time

@tausend_flammen I made them as a gifs, and converted them to “live” images so the watch would animate it. It was kinda a pain, but it ended up working

@Malogor @ShitpostRock This exact thing happened to me with Vicar Amelia. I just used fire paper, and stunlocked her to death. I didn’t even know she could re-gen health until I saw people complain about her later on

@ShitpostRock Unironically, in some games i killed bosses without even seeing parts of their moveset and saw people say "That boss was so hard". Then subsequent playthrough i go "Oh shit". Best example would be Mohg, who's second phase i never saw on my first go cause i stunlocked him too hard

Should've taken photos of those cats reaching for us from the cages, holding hands, purring like crazy. One fell asleep in a family member's lap. They went nuts for us. Could've taken them all home but we only have space for one.

It would actually be funny to me if the movie depictions of Bowser/Bowser Jr were switched from the games:
Bowser is the childish spoiled one, and Jr is the “serious” one actually trying to take over the world

I’m legitimately shocked they didn’t even show a HINT of Yoshi, especially considering he was the very thing used to tease the film in the first place.
Them neglecting him from the first trailer isn’t a good sign.
