@HockeyExpert98 I see his elbow completely tucked and chin contact is with the shoulder. He delivers this hit directly through the center core of the body. He does not elevate, pick the head, or take a bad angle of approach. I do not believe this to be a penalty.

@Hupperware Yes. A follow through can be on a shot, pass or backhand as long as it's a normal motion. A one handed swing, a golf swing or batting at a puck in the air would not qualify.

@ESPNRefNHL the high stick not called on a stick that hit the Avs Malenski was deemed a follow through however it was not a shot, it was a pass or rim attempt below the goal line. Is a high stick legal any place on the ice as long as you're making a play at the puck?

@joshlangerr Josh, the puck was across the line before any contact. His teammate was 'offside' and certainly not caused by the linesman.

#NJDevils Jack Hughes was FURIOUS linesman David Brisebois late in the 3rd period tonight after he got in the way of Jack’s entry at the blueline resulting in an offsides 😬

@bassetgreg About 15 years ago they changed the allowable curve from 1/2 inch to 3/4 of an inch and it's never been a problem since

@kylekeefetv @ESPNRefNHL The amount of times he’s answered this losers (me) questions is unreal. He also has talked me off the ledge a few times. He gives a glimpse into what goes on behind the curtain, the NHL needs to learn from him. It’s okay to be human, it’s okay to make mistakes, transparency is 🔑

I’ll say this about @ESPNRefNHL he’s out here answering questions, debating, having fun, breaking stuff down, being real…as much as (I especially) we have disagreements on calls, Dave is a bull. And a great dude. He’s an automatic follow on Twitter if you want the truth.

@Takhar77 @jasondemers5 It would be silly to negate a blatant offside but I'm trying to find a solution that reduces the frequency and length of reviews. A linesman missing an offside at 20 mph by 1/4" does not define incompetence.

@ESPNRefNHL @jasondemers5 I'm sure the suggestion was extremely sincere. I was being sincere in calling it a silly one that absolves the referees of taking any accountability. If you're going to waste our time with these silly reviews, get the call right. Let's not double down on refereeing incompetenc

New rule idea.. if the linesman on an offside challenge can’t determine within 2 minutes if it was in fact offside it’s a good goal 🫡🫡

@Takhar77 @jasondemers5 Just curious as to why someone would read another's sincere suggestion and decide "I'm gonna send a really crappy, confrontational response"? Do you act that way in person or just behind your keyboard?

@JRA2pair @jasondemers5 Agreed, I'm not saying linesman change their judgment I'm just saying maybe we should not be reviewing an off side unless it's creating an advantage of 18 inches or so. Just a suggestion to avoid long delays

@ESPNRefNHL @jasondemers5 Being in the zone ahead of the puck is an advantage gained. It's as basic and black and white as a rule can get.

@Takhar77 @jasondemers5 Sorry SunnyBoy but as I said earlier, the rule was created to prevent net-hogging and teams gaining an unfair advantage. If you enjoy long reviews to determine if a player was a millimeter offside then I apologize for offending your sensibilities....

@JRA2pair @jasondemers5 The rule was created to prevent an unfair advantage being gained, not to be held to the tolerances we're now seeing with review.

@jasondemers5 Incredibly dumb idea. Get the call right. Get the proper equipment available to the linesman if speed is necessary, but get the call right. Having to wait 2 minutes for that, isn't something to bitch about

@SgtSchulzED @kuznosebeers @TomGulittiNHL @Rtfreese You do you, Schulzy. People are telling you they saw a definitive replay, you choose to believe only the replays you saw. My baseball team was winning in the 8th inning when I turned it off. People are telling me they ended up losing but I'm not gonna believe them.....

@ESPNRefNHL @kuznosebeers @TomGulittiNHL @Rtfreese I saw a few replays, they all show definitively down the line, the puck didn't hit anything. I saw. Just bc I've been TOLD it hit something doesn't mean I'll trust shills over my eyes, over definitive video

I thought the puck went out clean too watching it earlier, but you can see on this angle the puck is shot off the boards.

@kuznosebeers @ESPNRefNHL @TomGulittiNHL @Rtfreese It was the most obvious DOG I've ever seen. Just because super-slow mo demonstrates that what we saw, what was blatantly obvious in real time, doesn't excuse NOT seeing it in real time. No angle, no speed, makes it look like not DOG.

Carbery was visibly frustrated with the missed delay of game call. Refs said they can’t just call it and expect Boston to challenge. “My only issue with that is there's four sets of eyeballs on the ice. Someone has to see that that goes straight out there, and they didn't.”
