@DirtyTesLa CT was running FSD 13. The CT was also doing 10 MPH faster at the same spots while on FSD.

@DirtyTesLa Well Tesla could already patch a location like this, or retrain for this. Not saying they did, or wasn't perfect before accident. Just stating these redos mean not much, only that it works now(at keast in one instance).

Well Grok might be the bad one here. He missed more for sure than FSD: didn't calculate that CT was going uphill, which reduces stopping distance. I'm no lawyer, nor I have facts that Tesla has. Looking at a video someone using FSD there looks like FSD starts slowing down the sameish place as user disengaged. It was maybe unintentional that's why it took long to act by the user. It's not for everyone for sure. Like my mom doesn't care her i3 beeps and shows low charge, she keeps driving and runs out of charge sometimes. (on her 4miles commute...)

@EV_Laci @elonmusk @wholemars @WR4NYGov As a pro driver I would not use grok to estimate speed and even at the speeds mentioned there was more than enough time to come to a significantly reduced speed and safely make the corner assuming the driver didn’t snap the wheel to the right and lose traction there first.

The media is running a story today about how a Cybertruck “allegedly” crashed on a Texas highway. Spoiler alert, the crash happened while the human driver was in control. The law firm, which is seeking $1 million, says that last summer Justine Saint Amour was driving her Cybertruck with Autopilot engaged. There’s just one problem — Autopilot is a legacy lane keeping system that never shipped on Cybertruck. The driver then admits that before the crash they disengaged the system and started driving manually. Indeed, the video shows the truck starting to turn before the driver disengaged and drove into the wall. Tesla hasn’t officially responded to the lawsuit yet, but available telemetry indicates the driver probably wasn’t paying attention, got startled, and crashed. There doesn’t seem to be any attempt to steer back towards the on-ramp in the video, rather you see the trajectory change from turning with the ramp to driving straight into it. When you crash your car, people tend to put blame on anyone but themselves. A high profile company like Tesla, with a CEO who is the wealthiest man on Earth? Yeah, they kinds of BS lawsuits happen often. Let’s wait for more data and discovery to take place, but based on the evidence i’m seeing so far that doesn’t look like something FSD — even an older V13 — would do.

Well she def made errors. I'm just saying not sure if it's right that CT was at that speed when she disengaged. Well we won't know how CT would reacted exactly, as it is already modified. Actually probably it will be a problem with autonomous cars: one might not reproduce situations later as sw changes. (even companies eventually can hide things with a quick update.)

@wholemars @elonmusk @WR4NYGov If it's really 4secs and 60mph as grok estimates, slowing down needs 2,6s for CT, than it's too low. You have to add reaction time, if I remember correctly they use 2 secs as a min for ordinary drivers.
