Sacramento Kings rookie Devin Carter, the No. 13 overall pick in the NBA Draft, will be available to make his season debut tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies and his father, assistant coach Anthony Carter, sources told ESPN. Carter underwent left shoulder surgery in July.

Fair to assume the Bulls are offering the Portland 1st (lotto protected until 2028, then turns into a 2nd) with LaVine.
Probably why teams are telling them to kick rocks barefoot.

It also sounds like this injury could keep him from paying dividends early on the new deal, since his focus will be more rehab than improvement.

On average, Patrick Williams new deal will be a little more than the non-tax mid level each year. 18M is a lot of money (duh) in general, but it won't be in the NBA going forward with the current cap projections. PW got high-end reserve/upside starter value. That's pretty fair.

I don't disagree with anyone who thinks Giddey is the best deal we could get today. It just ignores what we could've received months ago. Plus, the Bulls are now building a around a playmaker, who's not a threatening scorer and you have to pay him market value.

I think AK needs to take more heat about this trade instead of the trade being a debate about Giddey’s value vs. AC or picks.

What if the Bulls reach the same point?
Giddey may be the best value they could get today, but how do you build a team around him in his current form, and is it worthwhile?

1. I'm leery of players who add little to no value without dominating the ball
2. You must pay him to continue his development to see if that changes
It's not bad value for AC, but Devin Carter has something this team really needs, and he's cap friendly
