@BarroomNetwork I’m just the guy who found the renderings. All other questions shall be directed at the group who designed it 😂
(I know you’re messing)
English

Local architecture studio Edward Peck Design put together renderings for a concept what Soldier Field could look like IF The #Bears actually stayed in Chicago.
Would have a covered Lake Shore Drive, above field scoreboard, glass dome, & more.
Ngl, pretty sweet. Thoughts?

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams filed four new trademark applications on Monday, including for both the name “Iceman” and a new logo using the nickname.

@MyFriendMikey @JAYChi_Bears I am certifiably crazy. Thank you for noticing
English

@BarroomNetwork @JAYChi_Bears Complaining about waiting too long to use the washroom or getting a beer during the most crowded time of the game is crazy.

You always present solid opinions to back what you're saying.
I still stand by my prediction: "the Bears will be recognized for having six superstars on offense."
Is Rome the one player of those I predicted that has the furtherest to go to get there? That's probably true. But, I like the player's work ethic, support system and make-up.
English

Aldo, you know I watch the tape. Rome does have strong hands and can catch away from his body. There's plenty of film to support that. There's also film of him body catching the ball. It's not egregious, like Velus or Scott, but it is there. And we now see it in the NFL at times. Sideline catches and some endzone shots seem to be the most memorable. I think it happens when he's bracketed and expecting a collision, and laying out for a sideline ball where he's going to collide with the ground. Those are the times I see it and those are the times he tends to drop the ball.
English

By December 2026 the #Bears will be recognized for having six superstars on offense:
QB - Caleb Williams
LG - Joe Thuney
RT - Darnell Wright
TE - Colston Loveland
WR - Luther Burden
WR - Rome Odunze
English

My research doesn't agree
1. Pro Football Network mentioned he "very occasionally resorts to body-catching on lower throws, which can source drops"
2. 3rd Team report specifically called out his "consistently excellent hands," noting he made catches away from his frame with arm extension and body control, and was "an easy catcher of the football."
3. CBS Sports noted he had incredibly strong grip strength and reliable hands — posting a 92nd percentile catch rate in 2023
English

Rome had a great start to the season and I do think the pain from his stress fracture caused a lack of focus. But the way Rome catches the ball never changed from college. He was often a body catching WR who at times could catch with just his hands. So many sideline drops were basket catch attempts. He didn't extend and catch with his hands. I doubt that changes, never does with WRs. Catching is just too ingrained imo.
I think calling Rome a good WR, not a superstar, is fair and not a diss. To say he was the best WR in that class is a bit wild. Harrison had elite size, catch radius, nuanced route running and pedigree. Nabers was an incredible athlete with blazing speed and nearly impossible to cover in man. Rome was a good safe pick given his character and traits. I don't mind the pick but I think how many Bears fans manufactured him into a potential superstar is why so many hate on him now.
Feels like the saying, "Expectations are the thief of joy", is what some Bears fans are going though
English

@J2Kdesigns @tom_papp11 When Rome was entering the NFL no one considered him a body catcher. He began that with the Bears because of a very obvious reason: confidence. After some drops he pressed. He'll over come that, just like Julio Jones did
English

@tom_papp11 @BarroomNetwork You either are or aren't a full arm extension hands catching WR. guys who body catch will always body catch. I've asked many times for anyone to show me a WR who changed how they catch the ball at the NFL level. I've yet to see it.
English

@ThyStrum Sure he was. Aiyuk was signed to a 4 year, $120M contract because it was anticipated he would become Pro Bowl WR after 78 and 75 receptions in 22 & 23.
English

@BarroomNetwork When you say those names, the QB immediately gets labeled as overrated.
Also, Brandon Aiyuk has never been considered an All-Pro candidate.
Loveland and Burden might achieve those honors in 2026.
English

@J2Kdesigns The guy had five touchdowns in his first four games leading the NFL
Then the injuries happen because he is such a combative blocker down field
English

@BarroomNetwork TBH, that kinda sounds like a football "dad" thing to say when got here.
English

@J2Kdesigns I remember when Antwaan Randle El came to the Bears saying, "Last year everyone had Marvin Harrison Jr. No. 1... then Malik Nabers. I had Rome No. 1."
English

Rome is the one I question here. Good player, but he's not a superstar. I always wondered why Bears fans manufactured him into a player he never was or going to be. I get the hope but I don't get how some said he was the best WR in his class. Feels like some people just combine words together without thinking and call it a hot take.
English

@ThyStrum There aren't many, for sure. One team immediately comes to mind in the recent past - 49ers
George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk. With Christian McCaffrey added as a pass-catching RB.
English

@BarroomNetwork I voted “No” because I cannot remember a team having THREE (3) superstar pass catchers in addition to a superstar QB - I feel like Rome will be the odd-man out while still being worth his top-10 draft status.
Burden and Loveland are simply different breeds.
English

@BarroomNetwork I promised myself not to look at politics or sports X until the NFL season. Then this thing about referees popped up. And you know how I get about lousy officiating. Who do the refs think they are producing an inferior product and asking for more money, CPS teachers?
English

Today's #BearsDraftQuestion: There's growing talk that Rueben Bain Jr will drop to the bottom of round one. His Combine-measured 30 7/8" arms, one of the shortest for any recent edge player, is the biggest concern. If he's available at pick #25, should the #Bears overlook arm-length and draft him?
