Manipur's condition is similar to that of Kerala today. You have a v large population of deracinated Hindus. There are even some Brahmins in Manipur who celebrate eating beef. The percentage of practising Hindus in Manipur will be lesser than what census data shows. Hindus from other states should refrain from painting the Manipur conflict as some religious issue, because it clearly isn't.
