Why are folk in the media not asking Celtic about this. Really stupid to allow him to go on a jolly but not great from his side. It looks unprofessional and this also looks like he’s trying to avoid playing until the World Cup. @_a_johnston

@_DundeePerfect_ @_a_johnston I wonder aswell what some people actually know lol for instance a club can refuse to release if they can provide evidence of a genuine injury or the player being unavailable especially if there was no intention of the national team to utilise him in games. @EuropeanSuper17 @_a_johnston When comes to a National Team calling a player up the Manager of the club cannot refuse to release the player or the manager would face disciplinary measures.
When comes to a player with 56 Caps like even he would refuse.

@EuropeanSuper17 @_a_johnston I would suggest that the travel undertaken would have absolutely no bearing on a minor setback, that footballers fly on planes regularly with no consequences and that it’s all basically bullshit. And I’m also pretty sure I’m off out for a bit.

@rain_again @_a_johnston You would think he would want to be back playing and getting up-to speed for the World Cup but with that comes injury risk and missing out all together aswell. I would suggest the best way for that to happen would be to focus on rehabilitation rather than travelling.

Unacceptable. Dress it up as "team bonding" ahead of the world cup, but it's another short sighted move this season on celtics part even entertaining it. He should have been in Scotland working fully on recovery with his club rather than galavanting on telly and training with his national side.

@rain_again @_a_johnston I can assure you he’s not been living in a bubble the whole time he’s been out injured. He’s actually done the opposite of living in a bubble. Nothing against him living his life but the optics and timing of this was utterly stupid all round.
