Dermot Desmond & his son want you to believe it's impossible for Celtic to get to this stage of a European tournament for over 20 years

Why do the Premier League sides even bother playing European football atp? Must be so shit turning up only to watch your team get pumped every time

@PeterKerPlunki @Bazzinho9 None of this is Schmeichel's fault. He wasn't selecting himself. The manager watched him train, play and chose to keep picking him. All Schmeichel did was show commitment and try to be available.

@liamcsc @Bazzinho9 He’s a selfish dick cause he’s put himself over the club he’s a selfish dick cause at 39 you’re experienced enough to know that he can’t play in that condition he’s a selfish prick because he wasted months of a young gk’s career because he wanted a chance at the World Cup

find some of the reactions to this from Celtic fans a bit weird to be honest. Yes he's been poor for quite a while, clearly playing through the pain barrier. But he's effectively had his professional football career ended through injury and I don't think it's anything to be celebrated. He was a good signing overall and it's only recently he's looked completely done. I know he made a mistake in the Scottish Cup Final last season but he was absolutely superb in some games as well. A superb career in reflection, all the best Kasper. Would have been great to have you 5 years earlier

@PeterKerPlunki @Bazzinho9 Selfish dick because he kept Sinisalo out the team 😂 Can't be serious man. If he wasn't playing well it's not his responsibility to stop selecting himself. The manager presumably still thought he was the best option of the 3 at that time

@liamcsc @Bazzinho9 “For some reason” Hes a selfish dick kept Sinisalo out the team when he deserved to start put himself before the club and kept playing when it was obvious he’s unfit and injured and blames everyone else for his errors and no manager in the world drops someone with a name like his

Why is everyone blaming Schmeichel for making himself available? You realise he doesn't pick himself? The manager watches him in training, assesses all of his available GK's, and picks the one he thinks is best. Blame O'Neill if you're angry at him being picked.

“I could’ve potentially played my last football game.” Our guest reporter Kasper Schmeichel reveals that he has dislocated his shoulder, and torn his bicep, rotator cuff and labrum. The Dane opens up about requiring two surgeries that will keep him out for 10 to 12 months.

@mcgeachy_scott I don't know if I'd say Schmeichel alone has cost us majorly. Many players have been awful this season. Stuttgart was a terrible game but outside of that he's made mistakes & made big saves. Joe Hart did the same. He's clearly on the decline, guys 39

24/25 Schmeichel was such an upgrade, crucial in the Champions League last season. Shame about injuries bringing his career to an end, fitting he tried to play through them and help the team when called to. Hopefully gets a good send-off, his career deserves it.

@BazzaFergy Or he was making himself available to try to help the team because the manager wanted to play him Manager could have picked someone else at any point

@liamcsc He shouldn't have been playing. The professional in him should have held has hand up, albeit with difficulty and said he wasn't fit. But the medical should have noticed his issues. Not good enough. All round
