Access to Medicines Platform(MeTA Kenya)
Day 2 of the RMNCAH MERL TWG Meeting emphasized that advocacy and sensitization of decision-makers are central to reducing maternal and newborn deaths. In his opening remarks, Dr. Serem, Head of the Division of RMNCAH, underscored that quality data remains the backbone of effective RMNCAH programming data must not only be collected, but analyzed, interpreted, and deliberately used to inform action. He highlighted the critical role of political will across county and national levels in driving meaningful change and improving outcomes for women, newborns, and adolescents. He noted, calling on stakeholders to strengthen accountability, improve data quality, and translate evidence into responsive policies and programs. The way forward demands sustained advocacy to higher leadership, strengthened data use culture, and coordinated action to ensure that every decision made is guided by evidence and focused on saving lives

Youth safety is not negotiable. Protecting adolescents is a shared responsibility and a prerequisite for healthy, thriving communities. @MeTAKenya2018 @MwanaishaKe @ProjectSHARP
SHARP Project in Kenya@ProjectSHARP

A critical focus of the SHARP Project is advancing the health and well-being of adolescents in Mandera, Marsabit, and Isiolo counties. In 2025, @MeTAKenya2018 played an instrumental role in building the capacity of youth-led organizations including @NOFMA2 , @Mybody_Ke , @TrustHope137641 , @Macsa2025 among others to design and implement impactful interventions in their counties of focus—strengthening locally driven, sustainable solutions for adolescents and young people. As we move into 2026, we remain committed to supporting youth leadership, community-anchored action and adolescent-responsive health systems. @Sulekhaharun #HealthyAdolescents #SHARP4ASRH

Access to Medicines Platform(MeTA Kenya)
Across Kenya, too many women, adolescents and children still face avoidable barriers including stockouts of essential medicines, long distances to care, weak referral pathways and systems that are not built around their needs. At Access to Medicines Platform, we see these realities every day in our work with communities, health providers and county leadership. And we also see the possibility for change when people come together with shared purpose. As we step into 2026, we renew our commitment to strengthening RMNCAH systems through advocating for better financing, improving last-mile access to medicines, supporting frontline health workers and ensuring that every community can claim their right to quality, affordable care.
