This data from Sertalp is such a good way to represent how we should be using EO in FPL.
Trading 0.3% obj score over 6 gameweeks (0.8) to protect yourself against 62.4% EO.
Are you willing to bet that 62.4% of people are wrong for the sake of such a tiny EV gain? No chance.

As an example, if we pick Jesus and solve the rest of the team to optimality the objective score drops 0.3%, which is not a huge amount. Considering the ownership rate (62.4%) you can have him to have a peace of mind, or leave him out for some risky plays.
