DPW Snow Operations Update: The District Snow Team is continuing cleanup operations across the city, including removing snow from residential streets.
As of this morning, crews have moved so much snow to the RFK site that it’s now a mountain of snow equivalent to two football fields long and nearly two stories tall. That’s the scale of what it takes to keep DC moving after a major ice storm.

1. Most main roads are passable
2. Ice, snow, and continuing freezing temperatures have made residential road clearing more complex

4:30 PM Update: Sunshine is helping melt snow on some residential streets, as DPW crews remain active, treating icy areas and improving conditions where melting alone isn’t enough.

3 PM Update: Salting Continues to Address Refreezing. Crews are continuing to salt to address refreezing, especially in known trouble areas throughout the District, like bridges, hills, and shady areas.
Refreezing can happen quickly as temperatures drop, even after roads have been treated.

It's no longer snowing or sleeting, but that doesn't mean that we're in the clear.
Dropping temperatures mean that freezing will continue and conditions will remain dangerous.

2:00 PM Update: Roads are slushy—our plows are making their way throughout the city to improve conditions. They'll be out until roads are clear.
Remember, if you must travel today, be patient and give our plows plenty of room to work.

Red Line: No train service between Brookland and Union Station because of a signal problem outside NoMa-Gallaudet. Shuttle bus service requested. Customers can use the MetroBus H Lines to/from other stations.

Damn. @BubandPops closed for good today. They really stepped up the sandwich game in DC when they opened 12 years ago with housemade everything. I chose a dentist around the corner so that I would have an excuse to eat there more often. Thanks for all the great hoagies!

In DC, virtually zero restaurants include tax in price of drink.
Vast majority of bars also do not, tho some do low key if you pay with cash or just buy drinks not on a tab.

@BarredinDC Agree w/ Barred's points, though I do want to point out/remind people that DC/DMV adding tax to alcoholic drink prices is the exception, not the norm, in the U.S. (most places/states, it's included. So a $35 drink (!) would be $42.00 with tip, not $46+.
