The U.S. attacks boats off the coast of Venezuela and imposes a blockade on both Venezuela and Cuba. NATO countries are currently engaged in a campaign of piracy and attacks on Russian ships. Iranian tankers have been hijacked for years. International law is essentially a set of agreements based on mutual constraints, where predictability depends on reciprocity. You cannot exempt yourself from the rules and then expect compliance from the other side. The West has for years acted like rogue states, and they that sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind.

Russia, China and North Korea have long-range nukes that can strike the US, they will not be directly engaged with in a hot war. This is the best deterrence any country can have. Pakistan and Iran should develop them.

@GBabeuf Algeria another hypocrite country, is silently milking the cow. It doesn't want to get involved in 'other conflicts'. But it had no problem trying to recruit help from global anti imperialist movement back when the French were eradicating them.

Wonder whether Algeria is seeing any uptick in oil/gas supply contracts. It's one of Africa's biggest energy producers but haven't heard much about it in the current context.

Understand this about the Saudi military: 1) It is overwhelmingly staffed by foreigners (mostly Pakis), 2) It has FAILED to achieve its strategic aims in Yemen after a decade of blasting the place apart. 3) It is primarily meant for a) limited counterterrorism and b) internal policing mission sets. AND LET US NOT EVEN TALK ABOUT THE OVERWHELMING UNWILLINGNESS OF SAUDIS TO GO TO WAR/STRUGGLE AGAINST THE ODDS THEY ARE FACING WITH IRAN. In other words, if Trump is expecting the Saudi military to have his back, he's even more delusional than I believed.
