@TomatoCheese @LotsaSpaget @Winter67934 Hi there! The latest versions of the SD2SNES, that being FXPak Pros produced after 2022-2023, work with the expansion chip combo both hacks use (SA-1 + MSU1). Older revisions of the FXPak Pro are not powerful enough to run SA-1 and MSU1 at the same time, so they just pick SA-1.

@LotsaSpaget @Winter67934 The latest versions of Super Mario Bros. CD doesn’t work with the SD2SNES. Earlier versions did. I assume your game may be the same.

@FamicomCD I'm gonna assume you're probably aware of this bug unless it's something on my end. Entering and exiting a pipe leading into a cave caused a major loading issue. I also noticed at the start of the level when the music loads there's a little pause but that gave me vibes of actual retro consoles like the Sega CD and TG16 CD.

@J3SteR727 Yes, Rev.D is actually the exact version my cart is. It must be your file configuration then. Make sure everything exactly matches. The rom can't be something like "SMBCD (Patched).smc". If your game is in the correct configuration, feel free to message in the email thread.

@J3SteR727 Hi there! Did you ensure your ROM was in the same directory as your music and MSU file? If so, it's most likely the FXPak Pro. Any unit produced before 2023 or 2022 (not exactly sure when they changed the FPGA) has a weaker FPGA and can't handle MSU1 + SA-1.

@FamicomCD I just tried the demo it's great. I however didn't hear any music playing. Using a FX Pak Pro and an Analogue Super NT. I enabled cartridge audio and still no music?

@PufferJiggly @MarioBrothBlog Yup! These are called sequenced tracks. They're very space efficient, and had been widely used up to the Wii era. It's rare to see sequenced music nowadays due the fact streamed music formats such as wav can handle multiple tracks at once, and the lack of space limits, though.

In Super Mario World, green berries increase the timer. By strategically eating them to make the timer pass 100 multiple times, the music can be sped up repeatedly. It turns out that the music engine cannot handle more than 20 speed-ups, and slows down to a crawl instead.
