@Vijay6429 @DanielRPK That was 7.5 months before release, not 12. They had a lot harder job trying to sell that vs an Avengers movie. Also, the 1st 45+ seconds was 1 scene meaning the intercut portion, or trailer part was about 2mins 30sec.
Again, at 7.5 months vs 12, that is about right.

The ratings matter to NBA and ESPN executives. They matter to shows with incentives for the big markets to succeed. They matter for sports media analysts. They do not matter for basketball fans. The game is not going to die next year if Thunder-Pacers get bad ratings. Celtics-Mavs had bad ratings, and those are two huge markets with one of the two marquee franchises in the league. No one is going to root for your team because it makes the ratings better.
