According to a survey by Arizona Christian University only 4% of Americans have a biblical worldview. It's 7% for those 65 and over. It's 1% for those under 30. As the boomers pass Christian influence on America will almost disappear. It's very common for Christian boomers to have no Christian children or grandchildren.

@mikki807 OMG. Lighten up. If you are a legal citizen then get a Star ID or Driver’s license. Only legal citizens can get them. Better yet, get a U.S. passport. You will need one or the other to fly in the future. I’m an old white guy and I have never left the house without proper ID.

We had a grim BBQ at my aunt's house. We are a family of #Latinos We are all legal citizens, some of us are veterans, some are civil servants, and some of us are community volunteers. We sat and pondered what we would do should things get worse. 🧵

Listen up MAGA morons, remember the Keystone Pipeline you whined about for the past 4 years? Remember how you claimed it would lower gasoline prices? Wait until you find out who owns it. 🫠

When I was a teenager, my dad didn’t want me to go to college. He told me, “Men will only ever view you as a piece of meat. You need to get used to that. Educating women is a waste of money.” We were a “Christian” homeschooling family. Most parents homeschool their kids to give them an exemplary tailored education. I think mine wanted to isolate us so people wouldn’t notice the abuse as easily. My mom taught me to read, write, and basic math. When I turned 10 or 11 years old, that all stopped. I was given a stack of fairly random books and essentially told, “Good luck.” I taught myself algebra by looking at the teacher’s answer book, comparing it to the problem in my math book, and trying to figure out how they got to that solution. I would sometimes spend hours working on one problem. My dad refused to help me. He said I was too stupid. I realized that I was never taught geography and world history, and I was terrified that there would be huge holes in my education. I read Darwin’s Origin of the Species and several of my dad’s science and theology books. I read through the entire set of World Book Encyclopedias and wrote reports about the entries that particularly interested me. When I was 17 I got my GED and was accepted into the University of Houston. My dad didn’t want me to go and refused to pay for it. I got an hourly job and saved up enough money to afford one semester. I went. I met my husband Jason the first month at school. I ended up dropping out because of family drama and no money. I managed to scrounge together funds for a few accounting and business classes at a community college. Three years later, Jason and I got married. All that to say, I take the right of girls to attend college very seriously. It’s not just a feminist cause to me. It’s not about ego or sticking it to men. It’s personal. It’s moral. It’s the defiance of the evil of misogyny and abuse. And I will not tolerate anyone who tries to take that right away.

@RevDaniel He has been shot once already. If a president elect from either party felt a threat it is wise. If this was Biden I am sure you would feel different.

My mom stopped eating last week and she's wasting away. All she does is sleep 24/7 and wants to die. I have POA for her healthcare decisions and the nursing home is asking me if I want to do a feeding tube. She doesn't want it & I don't know what to do. 😞

Despite his best efforts, even Trump can't poison the relationship between Canada and the United States, which is much bigger than him or any one person. Still, American friends should note that something snapped today in Canada: Trump's insults and threats have gone too far.

Then imagine how they’d react if a mob of Democrats climbed the walls and broke their way into the capitol with a gallows built outside as Satan worshipers sang songs to the devil. 2/2

It's super interesting that there are cultures where homosexuality is grounds for death but raping boys is fine, what's a good explainer of this phenomenon?

@rickpidcock I got married to my partner 5 months after my mom died. Many people commented that it was too bad that she wasn’t there. My thought, not so much. She loved me, she loved Lea, but she never got over being uncomfortable with our relationship, even after 23 years.

One difficult part of Christmas is evangelicals wrestling through how to treat their LGBTQ family members, and their LGBTQ family members being vulnerable to be present while being judged. I think this piece applies to these situations this week. baptistnews.com/article/who-is…

@racheljwelcher Amen. For Episcopalians, the desire to be up front celebrating the Eucharist ranks up there with preaching as red flag motives for ministry. I’m also married to a minister, and the public work is the least of it.

It's about pointing people to Jesus, not yourself. And so, those who desire that one aspect of ministry - the holding the mic part - are waving some red flags imo.

Men and women who want to get behind the pulpit have always unnerved me because being a pastor involves so much more than preaching, being heard, and being an "influencer." As a pastor's daughter and now a pastor's wife, I can tell you: it's sitting by the bed of the dying, it's

"You don't want children? Who's going to take care of you?" Stop normalizing this. Everytime I post about the adult children who are the human retirement plan--financial, physical caretaking, parent living w/ them--I get throngs of msgs from the children and it's heartbreaking

I’m on new anti-depressants for suicidal ideation after YEARS of trying to cope without them, because a lot of horrible traumatic stuff happened recently. Everyone I tell about this has said something to the effect of “anti-depressants are a crutch & bad for you, quit them.”
