@stokie_stace It's great management showing trust and faith in a young lad in what is the more difficult game of the two. Playing him against Sheff Wed is just the equivalent of sarcastically patting him on the shoulder.
So Robins throws the young academy player in for his first start v a play off chasing team away, but didn't start him at home to bottom of the league and instead changed the whole system and played Sorba there. I hope he does well because that's terrible man management
@JPercyTelegraph@PeteSmith1983 Poor that John. Rowett had a poor run at Stoke. Wasted our largest budget and supposedly the largest at this level at the time and at times was disrespectful to ex players and the fans. He acknowledges this. I never condone abuse but understand why.
Gary Rowett walked out into what looked like an empty stadium for a walk on the pitch after Leicester had just arrived. A lone voice shouted: "**** off, you *****!" stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football…
@secondtierpod Was never the man for the job and the huge spend put us in trouble. We've been chasing it ever since. Half his fault, half not. He didn't employ himself.
@weare_stoke The problem with sacking managers is who the people at the top replace them with. The risk of having another disaster like Narcis Pelach must be reasonably high and the more managers we sack the less attractive we become. Stick for the next few seasons.
Obviously we’re not quite at this stage but how many more poor results would it take for Mark Robins’ role as manager to be under legitimate pressure in your opinion?

@secondtierpod@RichSCawley He's on record as saying the Stoke fans treated him well compared to how he performed at our club. Interesting statement in itself.
Nathan Jones: “Stoke fans gave me stick when I was there, so I would expect that. I wouldn’t read too much into that.
They gave me a little bit, I gave them a little bit. Surely they realise that is banter? Especially when you have won the game."

@jamesgeesus@LatestRovers Did a great job under very trying circumstances. Turned us from being a rock bottom side to comfortably safe over a few seasons whilst developing and selling the kids to fend off FFP. Easily our best manager since relegation.
@FootballScout5@LatestRovers Fair enough i thought he signed more. Good manager for NI but I'm not a Stoke expert so not sure what your fans would have to say about him.
Ex Stoke and current Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill is a standby choice for #Rovers if a deal cannot be agreed with Gary Rowett.
Rowett is still strong favourite at this point in time.
@LatestRovers Damien Johnson worked with him in the Northern Ireland setup I think. Bit of a weird one as was saying he'll always be happy in the Northern Ireland job recently unless he's looking a new contract. Decent manager but looked like he signed to many of his ex players at Stoke.
Jon Walters made or received 60 transfer window related phone calls on Monday when he was at Clayton Wood until half past eight at night.

@secondtierpod@AndyTurnerccfc Three wins out of three in 2026, three clean sheets. They've got to find something to have a go at us for haven't they? 😂
Quite the contrast in attendance for Stoke vs. Coventry in the FA Cup.
Are fans bothered about the cup? 🤔
Impressive from Coventry btw 👏
