The first Peatland ACTION Five-Year Partnership Plan sets out Scotland’s aim to increase peatland restoration to more than 400,000 ha by 2040. Agriculture Minister @JimFairlieLogie commended the 90,000 ha restored since 1990 as steady progress is made each year.

Only nine conifer species make up almost all UK commercial forests. Sitka spruce accounts for over half of all timber harvested. Read more: ow.ly/TmaZ50XGNkE To boost resilience to climate change, Forest Research and partners (@ForestryLS & @ForestryEngland) planted 17 emerging species across nine large trial sites. Early results are now published, led by Principal Scientist Dr Ian Willoughby.

Beavers have officially returned to Glen Affric. Working in partnership with @treesforlifeuk and @BeaverTrust a family and a pair of beavers have been released into Loch Beinn a Mheadhoin on land we manage in Glen Affric National Nature Reserve.
