On World Book Day I’m reading a motor racing memoir giving a behind the scenes view of one of the most romanticised eras. It is well written, but the real joy is the candid photos which bring the races and drivers to life, melting away the half century between then and now.

Quiet afternoon in the warmth of the sitootery with a good book.

Unexpected bargains gratefully acquired.

MoT day for the MR2. It passed. So did the Carrera GT and LFA which were being done after it.

Sat in the pub, can’t help overhearing a chap at the next table with his inside line on the ‘indescribable’ Hilux episodes on Top Gear. He’s talking utter bollocks but I’m resisting the temptation of introducing myself.
