My mom and I rarely talk about my journalism career because most of the time, she ends up being too upset about the fact that I prioritize journalism over my personal safety. Today, she finally opened up during lunch and asked me "why are you so obsessed with criticizing China?"

It's actually quite sad that Taiwan needs to be mentioned by Trump to be made relevant, but that's the frustrating plight of the Taiwanese.

When Taiwan made history and elected its first female President, no one in world seemed to care. But Trump has taken Taiwan to new heights.

@LetaHong I too supported Clinton for US Pres. But on Taiwan issue so far, Trump is saying the right bold magical words. Let's wait and see.

@LetaHong I think that’s why despite exposure, Pres Tsai is adopting wary wait and see approach. No major statements on her Facebook yet.
