Is calling petite women characters "l0lis" watering down the "l0li" definition? (Please, read to the end before replying) Well, even japanese authors call and describe petite adult women characters they create as l0lis: 🧵(1/12)

Therefore, if we are to consider Frieren a loli, this must fall under the definition of a small body, which includes elderly characters. Any other definition that incorporates physical or even mental age into the equation will immediately exclude Frieren. 9/9

Since loli implies a small body and a youthful appearance, why not consider that loli refers to a childlike anime female character? If a character is small in size and physical age, that's what's called childlike, and Frieren isn't childlike. 8/9

@Fraudwatch99 @ohanashidesuwa The "no" in the middle is a possesive particle in this case. It just means loli's grandma. She is also listed as that with the translation in MAL

@DiceFixer @Fraudwatch99 I'd rather avoid words like "childlike" in favor of "kawaii", "moe". Also, it's not like frieren acting "like a child". It doesn't matter from the point of substantive discussion. Just the matter of not fueling brainlets unable to distinguish cartoon characters from human beings.

@DiceFixer @FellArcadia An equivalent example from the anime Summer Time is that if the protagonist dies a certain number of times, the save point advances to a point of no return, and everything ends. Most of those around him will die irrevocably, even before the catastrophic ending occurs.

@DiceFixer @FellArcadia First, this is only in the novels. + In any anime, we know a character will die if shot in the head, so we get excited when we see a gun pointed at the protagonist's head. Is there an equivalent to this in Re:Zero in the anime?

@ohanashidesuwa that's the thing, lolis are never about age, but always about the bodytype

@DiceFixer @ohanashidesuwa Excellent, since you consider Saber not to be a loli. So what does Frieren have that Saber doesn't to make Frieren a loli and Saber not?

@ohanashidesuwa @Fraudwatch99 Yeah ur right. I think the kawai/moe aesthetic is a better way to define it. My definition would have included characters like Saber from Fate which is generally not considered a loli.

@DiceFixer @ohanashidesuwa I love how it's constantly argued that the term "loli" has nothing to do with age based on appearance, but when it comes to older anime characters, suddenly age based on appearance becomes a factor.
