Private Credit:
Enterprise value is equity + debt - cash & cash equivalents.
Equity is the residual claim on a company’s cash flow and assets.
In a run up to bankruptcy in public markets the equity is essentially wiped out and the debt is under duress.
TCW is claiming they wiped out the equity but that the PIK debt is marked at PAR.
This is laughable and if this security traded publicly it would be nowhere near PAR.
This is one of the fundamental problems with Private Credit…marks that are unrealistic.

But Iran's warnings to Gulf nations against supporting any ground operation, combined with maximalist demands from both sides, make a deal unlikely in the short term
