@scottbaughman @sarobertsonca What does Canada get that Carney had to come out and warn everyone that we're in for a rough ride. Because of tariffs applied to effectively 10% of our exports. So brave of him. 90% are tariff free

@sarobertsonca the lack of gravitas and intelligence used to make me mad. now that he's moved into the total caricature of a maga midwit online troll zone, it's just funny.

Yeah that's not true. These wars and defense spending stimulate Economic growth on both sides of border. We live in shade and narratives. It's one reason equity markets keep moving along nicely.
Marco Vigliotti@Marco_Vigliotti

I asked Defence Minister @DavidMcGuinty about whether the PM’s comments on U.S. ties being a weakness are hampering security cooperation with the Americans. He said he hasn’t seen that, and the economic issues are separate from those on security and defence

Current weakness in our ties with the US do not make our ties with the US a weakness. This is a problem to be fixed, not rejected for strategic partisan ends. In future years we will look back on the decision to give up on our largest and closest trading partner as negligent madness.

@irbrodie Potential GDP should increase whether its K, L or technological change but that vividly shows lack of technological change and productivity set us back big time

When was it exactly that it became a weakness for Canada to be connected to the US economy? I can't tell from the data......

@commdesignco My point is the US isn't a common foe and Carney's family doesn't believe that either. Folks can choose where ever they want that to happen

@GMDanTO Canadians should be able to pick where they want to be educated. I used to go to Florida every March with my kids. My choice is to not do that anymore. Hopefully one day education or travel will not be used as a weapon against the political party that you oppose.

What common foe ? His wife and a few of his kids either work or are being educated in the US. What's everyone talking about ? Seriously. Think this stuff though people. It's silliness
Maria Drutska 🇺🇦@maria_drutska

In this video, Canadian PM @MarkJCarney talks about how Canada was formed when the people were united by a common foe. There is a strong lesson for Europe here today, as we face our common foe Russia. When we are united as Europeans, we can withstand anything.

Only Monday & we've already learned the Prime Minister's YouTube talk on 'Forward Guidance' actually references a central bank policy from the 1950s & Foreign Affairs wrongly implied on X Canada couldn't have publicly opposed nomination of Iran to a UN committee on human rights.
