After speaking at the First Friday Republican Breakfast, I spent Friday and Saturday knocking doors meeting new people face-to-face, hearing their concerns, and sharing my vision for our county’s future. Then yesterday, I took time to celebrate Easter with my family. Yesterday at our Good Friday Republican Breakfast, I shared about how I decided to run for Union County Commissioner. I was praying about my future and what path God has for me, and I received direction from God to pull petitions for this race. Once I went to the BOE and got the paperwork to run, I learned that the incumbent was not running. Then within two weeks, I was able to almost double the required number of signatures. I had gathered 95 signatures 💪🏻 No one recruited me to run for this office. Political insiders in the county did not make me promises or offer support if I would run. I'm a true conservative. I didn't just start showing up to Republican events after I decided to run. I proudly serve on the Union County Central Committee. I'm not a part of the old boys' club here in Union County. If you elect me for County Commissioner, I will not owe my vote to anyone except the people. I'm running to be the voice of the average person on the Board of County Commissioners. Vote for PJ Reilly on May 5th.

It seems like Democrats would let just about anybody vote. As Secretary of State, I’ll prevent voter fraud by verifying citizenship and requiring mail-in ballots to include your photo ID, just like voting in-person. I’ll ensure every vote counted is legal... and real.

I recently completed a candidate questionnaire for the local Marysville paper in my race for Union County Commissioner. I was disappointed to see they only published a partial version of my responses. Here is my complete questionnaire below 👇 Name: PJ Reilly Age: 27 Current Occupation: Great Lakes Region Manager for Turning Point Action 1. Please provide general information about your background: where you’re from, how long you have lived in the area, what your educational background is and what you do professionally. I was raised in Dublin and have lived in Central Ohio my entire life. I bought a house and moved to Marysville when my wife Jessica and I got married. Her family lived in Union County for generations, and we knew this is where we wanted to build our family. I work for Turning Point Action, which was founded by the late great Charlie Kirk. At Turning Point Action, I manage our field operations in our Great Lakes region. TPAction was instrumental to the elections of Donald Trump, JD Vance, Bernie Moreno, and many others. I was honored to work on the ground here in Ohio and to also travel across the country to get him elected. 2. Statement about your candidacy – consider addressing such topics as what qualities or experience makes you the most qualified person for this position. I'm a strong Christian Conservative. I am the Communications Director for the Union County Republican Party and the only candidate in this race currently serving on the Union County GOP Central Committee. Previously, I worked for Congressman Mike Carey in Ohio's 15th congressional district, and I was honored to serve as his field representative. I had the opportunity to work day in and day out, helping our constituents and interfacing with our districts, counties, and local governments to secure federal funding and address federal issues. In my current position with Turning Point and with over half a decade of political experience, I have strong relationships with a great many in our Republican delegation at the federal, state, and local levels in Ohio, especially those representing Union County. I would use these relationships to ensure our county's interests are being heard. 3. With questions swirling at the state level around property taxes and the possibility of their elimination, what is the commissioners’ role in addressing funding if property taxes are abolished? We need our next commissioner to be someone who's not afraid to step up to bat for us in Columbus. If, in the hypothetical case that property taxes are abolished via a statewide referendum, we want to make sure we have a seat at the table when they discuss how counties will continue to be funded. I have a number of relationships at the state house and would look to take a critical role lobbying for the interests of our county and its residents, not just waiting around to see what happens. I have tons of energy and I’m ready to advocate tirelessly for this community. 4. Data centers are a hot topic in Union County. What is your stance on data centers? What are their benefits, concerns and what should communities do as more get proposed for the area? We need to give our cities and townships more control and autonomy over data centers and their construction. These data centers can strain local services, especially given the property tax abatements they have received. Currently, the state legislature is discussing a state study on data centers, and it would be prudent for our county to have a moratorium on data centers until a few months after that study has concluded so we have proper time to fully understand data centers and their impact. Secretary LaRose has decided a tie vote of the Franklin County Board of Elections in favor of a protest against the candidacy of Samuel Ronan, who was seeking the Republican nomination for the office of U.S. Representative in the 15th Congressional District. The board has been informed that Mr. Ronan is no longer a certified candidate for the May 5, 2026 Primary Election, and the board has been instructed to provide proper notice with all ballots that votes for this candidate will not be counted.
