This Sunday, April 5, 2026, at 1 p.m. U.S. Pacific Time, the U.S. Transhumanist Party Virtual Enlightenment Salon features a discussion and informal debate between USTP Officers on the subject of the single land-value tax idea advocated by Henry George (1839-1897). Daniel Twedt (@dantegrity - USTP Director of Community and Citizen Science) will present arguments in favor of the single land-value tax, whereas I, Gennady Stolyarov II (USTP Chairman) will critique the idea and instead provide support for the single flat percentage-of-sales tax as articulated in Section XXXVI of the USTP Platform, combined with a system of land ownership based on the first-occupier principle and freedom of contract. Joseph Wright of Derby espoused the ideas of the Enlightenment, and the AI may have picked up on that; here the lunar light particularly illuminates the archway of the largest structure – the entrance into an ancient Roman edifice that perhaps serves as a repository of knowledge which might be rediscovered. Today, as humankind has made its first, tentative steps toward a return to the Moon, may the light from that sphere shine brightly upon the Earth and enable us to see past the all-too-common darkness that has often engulfed it in recent years.

Although I did not initially intend for this to be a parallel-universe version of New York City, when the AI inserted the Chrysler Building into the scene, the resemblance was indisputable. This is perhaps what a transhumanist New York City might still look like in the not-too-distant future if flying cars become commercially available and humanoid robots begin walking the streets. At the very least, this is an interesting piece of visual art for the New York Transhumanist Party - @NYTranshumanist - to add to its arsenal.

The scenery here is perhaps what one would have seen in Italy circa 1000 CE if the Dark Ages had not occurred and if the Roman Empire had either persisted or if its successor state, the Kingdom of Italy, had not been ravaged during the Gothic Wars and subsequent Lombard invasions. The architectural and engineering skills of the Romans would then have been preserved and extended to larger structures, and the Romanesque style of late 1st, early 2ndmillennium would have been conducive to large, solidly built skyscrapers.
