Newly elected Danielle Martin brings great knowledge and passion to the work of representing University Rosedale in the House of Commons and congrats to @MarkJCarney for achieving a stable majority at this critical time. @BobRae48 made a great intro alongside @EvanLSolomon

Aging at Home has been a passion of mine since my time as Minister of Health. It is apparent that the solutions to provide aging with dignity will be one of the most pressing challenges of our time as the proportion of seniors grows. Check us out at Wellhaus.ca

@MacLeodLisa Great that he got one locally rather than having to travel thousands of KM and then to be told find another place when the current lease is up.

@ahmadelbayoumi I've known Danielle Martin from her days when she worked for Gerard Kennedy at QP. Through the phases of her growth she has always been a leader. If she will do it we would be fortunate to have a strong voice in the fight for #Medicare that is otherwise too quiet in Ottawa

@mattgurney Anyone pretending to know whether it's right or not is going to apply tired lens of "conventional wisdom" to an unchartered situation. Sometimes you gotta poke the bear. What's next in the hardball playback cause you gotta back that up. First we take the Dodgers in 6! #BlueJays

Ford is giving voice to Canadians who are frustrated. And perhaps especially frustrated by how conciliatory the federal government is being. I get it. We still need to ask ourselves if what Doug is doing is effective, worthwhile, and if he’s the right guy to do it.

@DavidJuurlink I spent six years at the McGill U Faculty of Medicine. I followed up doing HP and M at Harvard. I am in the position to help in this on many fronts. But I am determined to stay in the USA and help Canadian medicine take the North American lead.

Returning home from an international medical conference in Vancouver. In 25 years of attending these meeting I have *never* heard so many American physicians talk so openly about possibly moving to Canada.

They want to come, yea, but Canada also needs to put the work in to create a expedited path to integration A bold plan would include buying out the grants of up to 500 nih funded scientists and 5 years of guaranteed salary support to lure disenchanted clinician scientists northward.

@Famlawoncoxwell @joe_warmington Public housing and co-ops certainly have all the style and charm of Soviet style housing. It also creates ghettos which in turn create significant social problems and crime.

Ask the Canadians and English what they think of their free healthcare. It's free, if you can afford to wait. That's the moto I hear repeatedly when brain scans for suspected tumors take 13 months to schedule. (An actual video a young Canadian woman posted) It's easy for things to be free when you pay next to nothing in defense for 8 decades. Also, Americans subsidize your drug costs by voluntarily paying multiples of what you pay to drive R&D for new or better medications. If we taxed everyone that made more than $67,000 at 42% like the Germans, (That would leave you around the poverty rate at about $39,000 the government allows you to keep) "Free" healthcare and education costs $28,000/year. That's a hell of a lot more than I pay for healthcare and education for a family of 6. Not to mention, WE DO HAVE FREE HEALTHCARE. It's called Medicaid. It's available to low-income households and acts very similar to the "free healthcare" administered by other nations. Medicare covers pensioners in a similar way.

The White House Confirms: Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Security Advisor to Join Greenland Visit National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Energy Secretary Chris Wright will accompany Usha Vance to Greenland. The White House announced late Sunday U.S. time that Mike Waltz and Chris Wright will, among other things, visit the military base Pituffik Space Base. The security advisor and energy secretary will also take part when Usha Vance visits historical sites and attends Greenland’s national dog sled race during the trip. Múte: No Meetings Greenland’s acting head of Naalakkersuisut, Múte B. Egede (IA), stated in a Facebook post early Monday that the American visitors will not meet with Naalakkersuisut: “The Americans have been clearly informed that meetings can only take place once a new Naalakkersuisut (government) has been formed,” wrote Múte B. Egede. “Moreover, it must be emphasized in the strongest terms that our integrity and democracy must be respected without any external interference,” he added. Brian Hughes, a spokesperson for the White House, told Reuters that the visit is an opportunity to strengthen partnerships while respecting Greenland’s autonomy. “The visit is about learning more about Greenland, its culture, history, and people, as well as attending a dog sled race that the U.S. sponsors,” said Brian Hughes. @MarkJCarney Let's Go #renewalnow #EconomyandTrump it's been great to see the support for Carney. Years ago this was Freeland's to lose but I don't see her building a new, more centrist Liberal Party and confronting the dual threats of Trump lite and the real thing.

Whoa. What's the long line in the cold and snow for? A physician setting up a new practice in Brockton, Ontario said he'd take the first 500 patients who showed up. The line of people waiting years for a family doctor wrapped around the block. Via @ScottMillerCTV at @CTVLondon

Carney’s deep ties to Liberal powerbrokers and his unwavering support for Trudeau’s agenda prove him not as an outsider but as the epitome of the establishment. His brand of continuity with the Trudeau government will offer little relief to Canadians seeking real change from the policies that have strained household budgets and eroded trust in government.

@picardonhealth @CBCNews So, if a jurisdiction decides that providing me with primary care isn't medically necessary, isn't that the same as tossing in the towel on universal care and leaving the field open to private insurance?
