@goonerdave66 @BigZakAfc Arteta also doesn’t have an Ian Wright. If he did I wonder if we’d forgive a lot more. Other than RVP 2011/2 I’ve not seen a team rely more on one scorer than 1994/5 Arsenal on Wrighty

@BigZakAfc I would have to think about it but certainly Arteta can be wedded to systems and patterns. He too have moved from a free-flowing style to a more formulaic.

changed it but he’d likely have only been a cup or two without Arsene. Can’t stress enough how boring we were tail end of Graham 😂

@BigZakAfc So I’m born 1984, started watching in 1991 and season ticket from 1995. Basically Leeds won it the first year I watched and from then until 1998 United were the top dogs. We then went head to head until Chelsea got rich. About Arsenal, we were a cup team until Bergkamp and Arsene

9 points clear in the league. Very good chance to make the CL semis. Momentum has shifted but we are in a very strong position as long as we wrestle back the initiative in the next two games. No excuses - we have the squad and we have the experience. Come on you Gunners.

@Emzyl_ There is no fixture congestion anymore, that concept is dead for them.
They have a near fully-fit squad with a maximum of 10 games to play in the next 2 months, if they win today *and* in the semi. That’s not congested.

Confidence boost is a myth in football in 2026 too, you ain't gonna win all your games all of a sudden bcos you had a good result against Liverpool and Arsenal, those weakness like we saw against Madrid and all season are still much there

I just don’t see this, personally. I think the “we need City to have fixture congestion” argument died when they were eliminated from the CL. Think the confidence boost of another big-six win will be more impactful for them than having 2 extra games max over the next 2 months.

Well, this is what most of you Arsenal fans wanted. Better hope City’s extra FA Cup semi against West Ham or whoever makes them really tired, but I think this just helps them.

The concept of “clutch” as it is known in US Sports cannot be co-opted to fit football; the sports don’t work the same way at all
Your team wins 1-0, you scored in the 5th minute, it’s correctly classed as a “game winning” goal…
But it would daft to call that a “clutch” goal
