Israel’s attacks in Lebanon — and the threat of more to come — have caused more than a million people to flee their homes.

The seventh Israeli invasion of Lebanon is being waged in both the shadow of genocide in Gaza and within the world that Israel’s permission to commit genocide has created.
This is a world where international law has become a punchline, where there are no innocents and where there is no form of degradation—starvation, siege, ethnic cleansing—that is off limits.
It is a world where Israel can boast of their “success in Gaza” as a naked threat to civilians, where people in Lebanon are asked to choose between the slow asphyxiation of a so-called ceasefire and the catastrophe of a war without limits.
In short, it is a world of permanent war, with shifting battlefields but one center: Palestine.

Eighteen-month-old Jawad Abu Nassar cries in agony after Israeli forces tortured him in front of his father to extract a confession, according to Palestine TV. The infant was released after 10 hours through the Red Cross with burns and puncture wounds, while his father, Osama Abu Nassar, still remains in Israeli detention.
According to medical reports, the child’s injuries includes cigarettes extinguished on his leg and a nail inserted into it.
The incident occurred after the father was separated from his child at a checkpoint near Maghazi refugee camp under Israeli gunfire

I'm an American trauma surgeon. One year ago today I was volunteering at Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza when Israel fired a missile into the room of my 16-year-old patient, Ibrahim Barhoum. The missile killed him instantly. If it had hit the room 90 seconds later it would have killed me, too. Today the US and Israel are still blocking medical supplies from entering Gaza, and are repeating the assault on hospitals and healthcare workers across Lebanon.
This is nothing but barbarism. It must be stopped.
