@academic_la I’m sure in 20 years the Israel citizens that will occupy this land will be regarded as “innocent civilians” when Hezbollah continues its legal and morally justificable mission to forcibly remove them.

Due to the tremendously successful adaptation of Hezbollah in the war in Lebanon, the IDF has reached the conclusion that it cannot disarm Hezbollah. They have announced more modest goal, in line with the Israeli model of permanent war: 1) The IDF is now saying it would require occupying all of Lebanon to achieve, which is not currently feasible. 2) The new focus is on significantly weakening Hezbollah and creating a deep defensive buffer zone along the border 3) The IDF plans to demolish homes in the first row of southern Lebanese villages near the border, mirroring the "yellow line" buffer zone model used in Gaza. Residents of those villages will not be permitted to return under any future agreement 4) The goal has shifted from temporary raids to a sustained security presence. Minister Katz announced that the IDF will maintain security control over all territory up to the Litani River even after active ground operations conclude. In other words, the new model for the war in Lebanon is identical to the one in Gaza. Ethnically cleanse the population, occupy permanently, keep the war going on forever.

The idea that a country cancelling citizenship over criticism of Israel, one which currently has 36 states enacting laws restricting criticism of Israel in violation of its own constitution, has any “leverage” over others on free speech is so delusional only an American could believe it 😭
Cernovich@Cernovich

We could have used our leverage to make the EU respect freedom of speech for its citizens. Instead, we started a war, drove up their energy prices, basically fucked them. And got nothing in return for our ancestral homelands.

Masterful diplomacy by Iran, really making the US look like primitive cavemen. One side is rallying more diplomatic support by trading Straits access for lack of support in the war, the other side is talking to itself and announcing their war crimes. We are the ones in the Stone Age!
Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro@SecLazaro

Productive call today with Iranian FM Seyed Abbas Araghchi @araghchi. Building on recent talks, we reached a positive understanding on the safety of our seafarers and the security of our energy supply. Grateful for the warm spirit of cooperation. 🇵🇭🇮🇷

@JZarif Important yet obvious to point out that far from being some Islamist extremist monolith, there is a lot of substantive disagreement between Iranian politics on how to deal with the US. Infact, there might be more dissent in Iran than there is in a Washington right now lol

As an Iranian, outraged by Donald Trump’s reckless aggression & crude insults, yet proud of our armed forces & resilient people, I am torn about publishing this peace-plan in Foreign Affairs. Yet I'm convinced that war must end on terms consistent with Iran’s national interests.

@mtracey Does this help or hurt your case against people arguing it’s a war for Israel? Would be good to know

The war on Iran is being conducted "in the collective self-defense of Israel," according to this March 10 letter by Mike Waltz to the UN. Evidently, the Trump Administration perceives the "self-defense" of the US as "collectively" interchangeable with the "self-defense" of Israel

@mtracey “At a certain point” it is quite easily argued that every US president has been a psychopath. There’s no other way you could explain their love for mass murder.

🚨An Iranian official tells me the F15 warplane hit by Iran went down over SOUTHERN TEHRAN PROVINCE. The official said that because of the nature of the strike, the pilot could not evacuate before crashing. Intense fire at the scene, no remains have yet been found.

There's one striking difference between the present and the Stone Age: there was no oil or gas being pumped in the Middle East back then. Are POTUS and Americans who put him in office sure that they want to turn back the clock?

I really hope Iranians know most Americans are appalled by this, and have deep respect for Iran’s people, rich history and culture, unique and gorgeous architecture, and much more. We are not our atrocious government and are utterly disgusted by Hegseth and his ilk

A U.S. official tells me the bridge was attacked because it was used by the Iranian armed forces to try and secretly move missiles and missile parts from Tehran to launch sites in Western Iran and for giving logistical support for Iranian military in Tehran
Barak Ravid@BarakRavid

🚨🚨🚨Trump on Truth Social: The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again — Much more to follow! IT IS TIME FOR IRAN TO MAKE A DEAL BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, AND THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF WHAT STILL COULD BECOME A GREAT COUNTRY!
