We ended Read Across America with an hour of reading. 3rd through 6th graders read to Pre-K through 2nd. The importance of building confidence as well as a love for reading was evident in the smiles and excitement we saw in our Gators. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

Having older students read to the littles is so important. Kinder may have been wiggly, but seeing them imitate what they experienced after the older ones left makes it all worth it. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

Our Black History Projects looked a little different this year. After researching, students dove into Adobe Express to present their research in a fun and interesting way, using kid-friendly AI to represent their historical figures. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

There is no such thing as having too much cardboard when you have so many creative minds to share it with. From houses to masks, and even some Valentines for their grown ups, a fun time was had. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

Last week, we read "Snowmen at Night" by Caralyn Buehner. Students created their own snowmen and used Dashbots to run obstacle courses and races. A fun end to the 1st semester. Happy Holidays Gators! @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

After reading "The Most Magnificent Thing" by Ashley Spires, students were challenged to invent a contraption to safely rescue an animal. It was harder than it looks, but we have some smart cookies. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum's Upstanders Program came to Gooch. Students learned about Dorie Miller, Maggie Gee, Chester Nez, and what it means to be a true upstander. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

"Duck on a Bike" by David Shannon is always a fun read. Students had a blast crafting their very own ducks riding bikes. @goochelementary @DISDLibrarian @DISD_Libraries

3rd through 6th grade enjoyed the Maps and Stamps program once again. We even got to look at a stamp that's 132 years old. We always welcome Mr. Don and Ms. Brenda into our Gator family. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries @DISDLibrarian
