@moonscardshop @CardPurchaser That’s a fair point. However, what isn’t fair is pricing out your own customers by matching scalper-level prices, especially when you have the advantage of sourcing product directly from the supplier. Plenty shops exist who are fair and still profitable.

You're telling me a local card shop can get product straight from Topps and sell to customers 3x/4x the price straight from the supplier? How is this different than scalping? @CardPurchaser

@stonksandcards I can’t be the only one who hates this set solely from watching all the breakers posting on socials. Hate seeing breakers post singles online for absorbent prices and expecting collectors to bail them out on their overpriced boxes.

@CardPurchaser After seeing the prices of some of the latest sets and now this checklist I think I’m just gonna give up on the hobby altogether as it’s stopped being a hobby and is nothing more than a form of gambling at this point.

@bullcook11111 @FLCons I had to get repairs done on my irons. The glue on the extensions I have started letting go on a few clubs near the end of last season so since the grips were already coming off it was a no brainer to regrip them. Also got the putter done.

@Greenleaf420 @FLCons When you’re playing you swing your driver for maybe 5 mins the entire day . Maybe a few 5 iron shots so 2 mins swinging those . Your wedges and putter will be used more . Unless you practice on range . Weather will harm grips more than rounds

@FLCons lol. I just dropped my clubs off for regripping today. You could probably add a 0 behind that 40 to get the total number of rounds my old grips had seen.

From Ai - As a general rule of thumb, you should regrip your golf clubs once a year or every 40 rounds. Because the degradation happens slowly, most golfers don't notice the loss of performance until they feel the difference of a fresh grip. It's also a good idea to change them if you find that they're slippery, you feel like you have to grip extra tight to prevent the grip from slipping, or the grips have lost their grip patterns and have become shiny or brittle.

@AcmePacks Problem is even if they drop their prices all that’s gonna do is encourage second hand sellers and breakers to purchase more product. Boxes will continue to sell out instantly upon release and the average collector will still SOL.

At least there is an acknowledgment of the pricing issue. Now whats the fix? And will they actually do anything about it?

Not from Chicago or the State of Illinois, so to me, the #Bears potentially moving 20 minutes away (and albeit across state lines) does not really bother me much. However, I would be very upset and borderline disgusted if I was a Chicago / Illinois native / resident. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@cherokeeowl The problem with giving it to staff is it leads to those not so accidental mistakes happening. I’ve been on both sides of that. I know the game. A homeless shelter is a much better option.

At a restaurant, a server accidentally entered an order incorrectly. When the food arrived, the customer sent the entire order back—completely untouched. The manager’s response? Throw all of the food straight into the trash. It raises an uncomfortable question: was that really the best option? With food costs rising and so many people going without, should there be a better policy—like offering it to staff, donating when possible, or at least finding a way to reduce waste? Where do we draw the line between food safety, liability, and plain old common sense? 🍽️🤔
