I understand business - Farmer owns a 4m quid farm but struggl3s to make it pay because supermarkets and food manufactirers have him over a barrel and as for IHT his farm would only be worth 2 million or less but Tax dodgers have bought up loads of farm land as non taxable asset to hand down to their kids which has artificially inflated the worth of the farmers land.

@JoeWStanley I hate all this “far right” and “left wing” stuff - the media (especially social media) is creating division and anger which is causing chaos, in the meantime, hedge funds are making a fortune out of other people’s misery.

‘Far right groups plan to hijack farmer protest’ Of course. Exploiting despair & anger wherever they find it. Beware; they do not speak for the countryside. Let’s hope they’re given short shrift if they turn out. theguardian.com/environment/20…

@Ethan_Jonescy I’m worried that people are becoming increasingly polarised and tribal. I believe that prople have more in common than divides them. Out rulers create division for a reason - “divide and conquer”. Mewn undod mae nerth.

@terrychristian @TommyRob85 I think we have more in common than divides us. Don’t let an issue like this create division.. let’s agree on one thing at least - we need to rejoin the EU!

@terrychristian Terry, please don’t fall into a culture war. The point is that farmers don’t want to sell family farms - they are multi generational homes as well as businesses. You’re welcome to come and visit if you want to know more 👍

@terrychristian I’m afraid they will - the value of the assets outweigh the meagre income, so they won’t be able to pay the IHT without having to sell land, thus making farms even more unviable. It will cause family farms being swallowed up by big farming corporations.

I invite BBC to share one single neutral, or pro-Trump, report they’ve broadcast since his victory. I can’t find one. Unless BBC can and do share this, I’ll seek a legal perspective on their reportage of Trump in the context of the BBC Charter

OK, let me solve American "economic anxiety" very quickly. I'm gonna sort it out for you in less than ten tweets and then you won't have that excuse anymore. You ready? Here goes. The cause is capitalism and greed. That's it. Nothing else. Just that.

@JamesMccluggage Dunno, but one of the biggest media outlets (that we’re using now) was instrumental in him winning. What a time to be alive.

@Griffddyn The meltdown on some media outlets is fascinating to watch. There’s genuine shock, but it seems like he’s going to win comfortably. How did they get it so wrong?

Do the election results in the U.S. show that the media can’t accurately capture public sentiment, or are they choosing not to, especially since some outlets got it very wrong? This is the debate in my head right now.
