@benfowlkesMMA The most important factor is if you are getting paid to promote the fights or getting paid to complain about the fights. MVP and Netflix pay the bills for you, so your choice is made. You're a hack scumbag. Bought a paid for. What an evil piece of shit.

In a fractured media landscape the most important factors are: have people heard of these fighters and do they feel any type of way about them? Whether they can still fight matters much less.
Luke Thomas🏋️‍♀️@lthomasnews

The biggest fights in combat sports this year feature older athletes in weird bouts. No fighter here is younger than 36. Two are 39 and the rest are over 40. Several were retired. One is fighting for the second time in this sport. Virtually all have no relevance to their division

@simbaRoofakus I don’t care. I didn’t ask about bad bunny or the Super Bowl so it’s clear he probably just watched a clip.

It's almost like these fighters forgot they can get 100k for a bonus, and a guaranteed 25k extra for a finish. Doesn't feel like many guys have "gone for it" this year.
Paul Fontaine@PaulAceFontaine

@MMAdamMartin After the first few fights of the first show, I thought the automatic bonuses for a finish would make for more exciting shows but clearly that’s not the case

@Ethanbacku28021 There's more heat on Yair-Lopes than any other fight in that division by a mile. Melki-Garcia would also work.

Obviously, UFC should book Diego Lopes vs. Yair Rodriguez next. If Yair can't go, would love to see Melki vs. Lopes.

I will say on paper this card looked pretty good. The fighters just aren't doing much tonight to give the fans their money's worth. Sucks if you paid good $ to be there tonight.
Tom@Bueller27

@MMAdamMartin I feel sorry for the people in the arena. I have it on my laptop and have just been looking when they yell that something is happening, which hasn't been often

@UFO_UFC Unfortunately, The Apex isn't going anywhere. The least they can do is give us solid main events with relatively big-name fighters.

Dana White on dealing with things Sean Strickland says: "It's a nightmare, but you guys (the media) don't help. Asking him dumb shit. Ask dumb shit, you're gonna get dumb shit. 'What'd you think of Bad Bunny? What'd you think of the Super Bowl?' Get the fuck outta here. You fucking kidding me?" Sure, Strickland does gets asked things other fighters don't because of his insane reactions, but he was not asked about the Super Bowl or Bad Bunny. He went there on his own, unprompted at media day. #UFCHouston

Every word of this is true. It is genuinely hilarious to watch people loudly proclaim UFC isn’t right wing thinking it does anything other than show them to be low IQ dipshits.
Lou DiBella🥊@loudibella

They are beyond a right wing vector. The UFC/MMA fans and Dana literally were a major force in getting Trump elected, right up there with dirty Elon Musk. For the predominance of the election cycle, Trump received on-air time, grand entrances, and celebrity shots with Dana that were worth tens of millions of dollars. He was built into a cult figure among the MMA/UFC faithful, who have applauded his unprecedented incidents of racism, misogyny, imperialism and efforts to become an authoritarian leader. Trump's starring role in the Epstein saga/coverup would chill most publicly traded companies and major sports from functioning presently as a public pedestal for this corrupt Administration, regardless of Dana's longtime loyal relationship with Trump. Continuing to heavily promote UFC on the White House lawn, when the most appalling political coverup in American history is ongoing, a web of pedophilia is being trivialized, and associated criminality and protection of pedos is alleged by many residing in, and working for, that White House, is shocking and morally reprehensible. Too many in the sports press lack the principle and balls to say it, or are prohibited by the co-opted billionaire owner/employers from doing so. Combat sports are presently and largely a moral wasteland, complicit in elevating those that history will inevitably condemn. Shameful. #boxing #wrestling #MMA #UFC #TrumpEpsteinCoverUp #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace

❗️The UFC just DOUBLED bonuses. But did we just return back to 2011? Here’s the full context. UFC just announced: 💰 All bonuses are now $100,000 🔥 Every finish now earns an additional $25,000 That’s a good thing. Fighters deserve more. But context matters. Looking at actual bonus history, not one-off promo events: 📈 From 2010–2012, the most common performance bonus was $65K–$75K 📍 In 2011, the most common bonus was $75,000 🧊 Since 2014, the standard bonus has been flat at $50,000 for over a decade Here’s the inflation part people miss. 💸 $75,000 in 2011 = about $110,000 today So the new $100K bonus is not some historic leap forward. It is roughly a return to 2011 levels in real terms. Yes, there have been special-event spikes: 🎯 UFC 100 paid $100K 🎯 UFC 129 paid $129K 🎯 UFC 300 paid $300K …and a few others. But those were random promotional moments, obviously not the baseline. What matters is the standard, and that baseline was effectively cut and then frozen for more than a decade while the company exploded in value. Now the business side 👀 📺 The FOX / UFC deal was around $100M per year. 📺 The ESPN U.S. media rights deal was around $300M per year 📺 The new Paramount U.S. media rights deal is about $1.1B per year That is roughly +$800M per year in new U.S. TV revenue, a 267% increase from ESPN to Paramount. And roughly a 1000% increase per year in US TV revenue since the 2011-2018 FOX deal. Let’s include the new finish bonus too. In 2025 there were 280 finishes across UFC events. 💥 280 finishes × $25,000 = $7.0M per year Now combine everything. 📅 43 events per year 🏆 4 bonuses per card 📈 Bonuses doubled from $50K to $100K = about +$8.6M per year 🔥 Finish bonuses add about +$7.0M per year Total additional spend comes out to roughly +$15.6M per year. And compared to the TV money? 👉 That is still just over 1% of the annual increase from the U.S. media deal with Paramount alone. So yes, it is a positive change. But financially, in the context of the UFC’s business, this is far from an impactful change
