it's really funny that the pinnacle of western cartoons still have their animation done by Korean/Japanese studios

It's interesting how bryke went from originally wanting the gaang to mostly be men outside of katara to creating tlok with korra as the protagonist and allowing her to have flaws which makes her a more well rounded character. they really tried. which i like.

@HAWKGIRLS And even then bumi and kya did take in and internalized those lessons from their father, it honestly seems they just didn't want to learn the history and ground work of the culture but continue the practice of it.

Quite a few expenses have come up this month, if you are able to help it makes gas and groceries easier. Always appreciated!

Aang and Tenzin being accepting makes perfect sense because they technically already broke the rules, Tenzin is more complicated but Aang prioritized love with Katara. Aang still holds onto his traditions but he is also flawed and not entirely perfect by their standards

Aang having a relationship with Katara is already something that's looked down upon in Buddhism, relationships in general are prohibited which even the show brings up for Aang and how he has to let her go
Ritan Man@ManRitan

Kind of funny they made Nomads the most openly LGBTQ considering Aang, Gyatso, Tenzin and Air Nomads were heavily based on Buddism and Dalai Lama And last time i checked Dalai Lama literally called homosexuality a sexual misconduct

Katara was using zuko as a proxy for her hatred towards the fire nation and that was on top of how he betrayed her so she felt more justified in her hatred towards him. he thought if she let out all her anger on the man who killed her mom, she'd accept him again.

the thing about the southern raiders episode is that zuko is desperate for katara's approval, he's using the soldier who killed her mom to overcompensate for the trauma he and his nation have caused katara. he also wants katara to stop using him as a proxy for her hatred.

Zuko would be dead several times if Aang wasnt who he was😭😭…i cant believe some of y’all are calling the concept of forgiveness ‘being naive’ and ‘doing nothing’ while Thats wha zuko was looking for the whole episode from Katara...lmao
namnas@naMnaSYt

Aang doing the mock forgiveness after previously telling her that forgiveness is hard kinda show his naivety Forgiveness can help but Zuko is also right in that this is the real world and not just a lesson he learned in school

did katara even fight pakko in the Netflix atla??? I'm hearing aang supported pakko's sexism when it was he who stormed off & katara, who was still mad at pakko, had to tell him to go back & not worry about her? The same guy who still went and showed her what pakko taught him?

@HAWKGIRLS Kya I can imagine from the moments she discovered she was a water bender felt a certain disconnect. And then there’s Bumi who’s inability to bend at all def made him develop a complex and averse to the air nomad culture
