My ungraded papers took a trip home with me again. I’m sure they had so much fun sleeping over in my car and coming back to work with me this morning.

And the kid…. Was the admin’s kid’s best friend. The kid hadn’t gotten it done because they were at the beach for the weekend with the admin’s kid.

One time an admin told me I wasn’t doing enough for kids by not accepting an essay late that we had worked on for over a month. And I was on a team of 5…The same admin who established this rule in THEIR classroom when they had been a teacher. #hypocrisy #teacherproblems

@ProfGoat Parents can choose to homeschool or have private school. Either way, it’s a can of worms situation. If this kid wins, it opens more teachers up to disrespect “protected” by freedom of speech.

@HSTeachProbs the difference, I think, is that school attendance is mandatory, whereas no one is compelled by the government to work at a specific private employer. The latter has more of a right to set standards for off site behavior.

It’s a “can of worms” scenario. It will allow cases like this in the future for real disrespect. And that you say “we need less teachers like you…”? I hope when a kid truly disrespects you (unlike the memes), you get support.

If the kid wins though, it opens up that it’s allowed. #canofworms
