@fvc022 Obviously, if a return is completely bananas, you can trade anyone. But I would prefer a longer retool than moving him now. We’ve seen this story before, several times, gotta learn from past mistakes.

I’m not even kidding, sign him to a 1x1 or 2x2 show me deal, hook him up with some of the better doctors in the league & see if you can get him back to the 30-40 goal guy he was in Winnipeg. Low risk, high reward.

Hearing there was a heated exchange between Gary and a NHL GM during the GM meetings. The GM said to Gary that it appears the league has relaxed its standards on head shots. Gary was irate with the question and blasted the GM. This GM has my vote for GM of the Year.

@fvc022 My take from what was reported was other GM’s were frustrated bc he was taking too long to make up his mind on offers, which is consistent with his tire kicking ways that are well documented.

@fvc022 And I’m not sure what you mean by “got what he wanted and asked for a little bit more”. He got a stinkin 4th and conditional 2nd. If that was the ask (or more than the ask), Bobby was worth more to the team re-signed.

@fvc022 He asked too much for OEL, I’m not sure he was asking too much for Bobby or Laughts. I think he waited too long seeing if other teams would up the ante which backfired as teams left the table and had to take less bc that was all that was left.

@fvc022 He waited too long for sure. But he waited too long on the actual deadline day. There were 4-5 teams in on Bobby and it was reported that GM’s were frustrated by Tre’s indecisiveness. Teams moved on while Tre was tire kicking and he had to take the last deal left on the table.

@fvc022 Absolutely, same with 80%+ of the rest of the team. But he still had 19g and 32pts this season with the Leafs, 2nd most goals of any fwd traded before the deadline. The return Tre got was a huge fumble.

@HStandersen Yeah typed 9 instead of 8 my bad. But honestly the point still stands. He's an inch shorter wow! He's 10lbs heavier than Hutson though. So yeah he's 5'8 but he's solid.

That Parros presser honestly did more harm than good. He shrugged off complaints/concerns & doubled down on a poor system that doesn’t protect its stars. He isn’t cut out to be the head of @NHLPlayerSafety & it’s as clear as day. This should be his last season in this position.

NHL DoPS head George Parros responding to Connor McDavid's call for an examination of the suspension process: “We sweat over these decisions and pour over these decisions every night, all season long. We have a process in place that’s consistent, and we have a team that works for me, and together with me, that evaluates all these plays. A very experienced team, a veteran team. Guys that have been there since the beginning of the department. Not to mention all the former players that have a large set of experiences playing NHL games, accolades. Some of the best guys that have played the game work for this department help make decisions. So, our process, I feel very confident in. We’ve got great guys who make these decisions, and I think the players should be confident in this team to do so.”
