Right now, the question is whether Tiger will play the Masters. But if he wants tournament reps, should he also play the Champions Tour? In this episode, Mark and Greg talk about that possibility. What would make it worthwhile for Tiger to play on the Champions Tour? Would he dominate the field there? Is he just scared of the Greggie? Tiger's right of way and episode links below🔽

My honest reaction to this is pretty simple. The data from Arccos has always been powerful. I have seen firsthand how much it can help golfers understand their games, make better decisions, and help them focus on the things that actually lower scores. But I never really liked the feel of sensors on my clubs. Now that problem is solved. I think Arccos Air is going to resonate with a lot of golfers who wanted the insights, but did not want anything attached to the grip. That friction is gone, and that changes the equation for a lot of people. Really smart product. Really meaningful step forward. (Use code DATALOU15 to save 15%) arccosgolf.com/pages/arccos-a…

In this episode, Mark and Greg talk forecasting—projecting future outcomes during a round. Drawing from personal experience and Tour insights, they offer strategies for staying present. Mark shares how his most relaxed and enjoyable golf happened when score didn’t matter, and Greg offers practical ways to build awareness of forecasting tendencies that all of us can use in our next round. It's hard—and episode links below🔽

Hmm. I'll need to go back and re-listen. Short version of what is normally meant: start with a down-the-line view of the top of the backswing. If, in transition to the downswing, the angle of the shaft gets more vertical, it is steepening. If the clubhead end lays down behind the golfer, making the shaft move more toward horizontal, that is shallowing. But @4golfonline might want to jump in with a better definition.

@HackItOutGolf @4golfonline I love your pod, but this show was completely baffling. I still have no idea what shallowing is. This is the first time this has happened on your show. Where do I find out?

Social media swing tips and training aid adverts are full of help to get you to shallow your swing. Should you? In this episode, Mark, Lou, and Greg talk about shallowing. What does it even mean? How do cameras deceive us about what's happening in the swing? Is there a connection between a shallowing downswing and a shallow angle of attack? And can you play good golf without trying to shallow? An antagonistic quizmaster and episode links below🔽

A useful, technical listener question: what is the relationship between swing path and angle of attack? Mark takes the lead on answering a listener question (that might be from Lou?). If the driver head is ascending into impact, isn't it more likely also turning back to the inside of the arc? Mark attempts to offer some conceptual clarity on a good question—a concept that could have you hitting longer, straighter drives. Episode links, and other ways to hit drives, below🔽

@JamesHardieInv It appears that perhaps the live leaderboard had a scoring error; I think the difference is that Greg is now listed with a double-bogey on 9, which drops his score for the day to -3. But that is still currently good for T1.

Still a lot of golf left in Round 1 of the @JamesHardieInv, but our man Greg has finished his first round in exactly the spot we want to see him:
