The master of scRNA-seq in brain tumors, @MarioSuva, always pushing the boundaries of dataset size and information per sample. In his keynote, corrects the record for the field that there are not cell state shifts toward MES at GBM recurrence. Actually no consistent changes - our therapies are not dramatically changing the malignant cell states or TIME states (the treatments also don't work). Data from >120 patients samples from around the world with matched primary and recurrent pairs #SNO2025

In today's Cell, we propose a “developmental constraint” model whereby cancer cell state plasticity is restricted by the organism’s developmental map to access progenitor-like states and differentiated-like states of adjacent lineages.🧵⬇️ sciencedirect.com/science/articl… @AyushiPatel3994

CODA day! The CODA team at @JohnsHopkins maps pancreatic precursor lesions in 3D and at single-cell level. First 3D spatial genomic maps of large tissue samples. A human pancreas contains a staggering ~1000 lesions, some showing multifocality. Here: nature.com/articles/s4158…

Excited to share our latest preprint! In thie work we showed that acral melanomas, a melanoma subtypes occurring on the skin of palms, soles & nailbeds, evolve very differently from melanomas arising from sun-exposed skin (or cutaneous melanomas).biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
