On Friday, JetBlue flight #JBU1112 was reportedly involved in a near miss with a military tanker aircraft while climbing out of Willemstad, Curaçao, en route to New York. The military aircraft appears to have been operating without an active transponder, rendering it invisible to both air traffic control and nearby aircraft. Pilots reported to ATC that they visually acquired the aircraft while passing through approximately FL333–FL334, prompting them to descend to avoid a collision.
