Most football staffs don’t fail because of talent. They fail because: • No clear structure • No defined roles • No consistent communication So I built a Coaching Staff Manual and I’m giving it to every coach 👇 If you want it: 1. Follow @GridironHQ 2. Like + Repost 3. Comment “MANUAL” I’ll send you the copyable version.

This is what it looks like when ‘teammate’ means something beyond your own locker room. Kent State football showing up in full pads to support softball. Culture isn’t a slogan. It’s showing up.

CRYING FOUL: A new FOX News poll finds 72% of sports fans think major sporting events should be required to stay on free broadcast television, not behind streaming paywalls. Nearly 6 in 10 sports fans say they’ve skipped watching a game at least a few times in the past year because it was too expensive, while nearly half of fans (47%) say they've skipped games because it was too difficult to find or access them.

As an AD, I constantly remind our coaches what a captain really is. It is not always your best player, even though that is the ideal. It is the player who lives out your program’s culture every single day. The one who holds teammates accountable, shows up and works, puts the team first, and does the little things right when no one is watching. A captain is not just a talented kid who makes plays. It is the standard everyone else should follow.

I just finished an offensive line manual I wish I had early in my career. Not more plays. Not more scheme. Just a simple system: – Indy – Technique – Combos – Fixes – Friday adjustments No fluff. Comment “OL” and I’ll send it.

If your best leaders are afraid to hold their friends accountable because it might hurt feelings or make them mad, then they are not really leading. True leadership means putting the team and the standard ahead of comfort. If they cannot do that, it may be time to find another leader. 💯

If I were a k-12 high school looking for the easiest way to improve athletics, I’d make middle school PE mandatory and make it include weight training. Athletes: 3-4 days weight room, 1-2 days games Non-Athletes: 3-4 days games, 1-2 days weight room

As an AD, I try to learn something every day because athletics is constantly changing. One lesson that never changes: be consistent with decisions and policies. Without consistency, you have no foundation.

Coaching is full of paradoxes. Things that seem opposite… but turn out to be true. The longer you coach, the more you see them. Here are 7 Coaching Paradoxes every great coach eventually learns: [THREAD] 🧵

What is the Cost of Leadership? It costs $0 to say “hello.” It costs $0 to pick up trash It costs $0 to say “please.” It costs $0 to be kind It costs $0 to say “thank you.” It costs $0 to encourage others It costs $0 to smile Lead by Example. It costs nothing.

As an AD I have learned that losing comes with its own set of challenges, like we need a new coach, you do not care about our sport, and so on. But guess what, winning brings a completely different set of problems. Success is not free of issues, it just changes the conversation.

Pam Bondi and the FBI are reportedly constructing significant cases against current members of Congress and federal agencies, based on criminal evidence uncovered by DOGE. Should arrests proceed swiftly?

You can be surrounded by people and still feel utterly alone. You can be around people who don’t truly care about you only what they can get from you. That has been a reality for much of my life. I’ve received DMs saying, “You talk about Jesus too much.” But here’s the truth: there were seasons when I had no friends, no one I could fully trust, no one showing up for me and Jesus never left. When people walked away, He stayed. When I was misunderstood, He knew my heart. When I felt unseen, He saw me completely. So yes I will continue to talk about Jesus. Because He has been my constant, my comfort, my strength, and my closest friend. This earth is not our home. Heaven is our home.🙏

As an AD, our general rule of communication is simple: 1.Athlete to Coach 2.Parent to Coach 3.Parent, Coach, and Athletic Director People love to go straight to the top, but you have to protect the process. Allow the steps to take place. Never meet with a parent in season without the coach present. That is not fair to the coach and is a waste of time for all involved as it will start a back and forth instead of an honest conversation.
