In a podcast I listened to recently, former Chelsea and Man United Chief Executive, Peter Kenyon narrated how he advised Roman Abramovich to sack Claudio Ranieri. He said it wasn’t because Ranieri was a bad manager. He was tactically astute and even helped Chelsea to second on the log in that 2003/04 season. It was Chelsea’s best Premier League placement at the time, and Abramovich was keen to leave Ranieri on the job. Kenyon said Abramovich asked him if he’d back Ranieri if Chelsea won the title, and he said no. Why did he insist on Ranieri leaving? He said he’d worked with Alex Ferguson and understood what a winning mentality looked like. He said Ranieri didn’t give him the vibe of someone who can win consistently. Kenyon said he looked like a man who would rest on his oars. And that was why he went for Jose Mourinho. He said Mourinho was similar to Ferguson in many ways. They had an irrepressible hunger for triumph, and were extremely competitive. Interestingly, same Ranieri managed Leicester to the Premier League title in Mourinho’s second coming as Chelsea manager. See, football is sweet. There are stories for days.

🚨❤️💛 Claudio Ranieri, set to leave his job as Senior Advisor at AS Roma with immediate effect. Follows the recent issues with manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

He was close to joining APC but his demands were too much and weren’t granted hence why he joined ADC, not like he believes in the coalition. Moreso, he needs a party gaining traction to stop Abba. On a good day, he would have debunked accepting VP to Peter an Obi but he’s enjoying the current cheers from Obidients, it has already made his work easy in the South come 2031. Facts are stubborn.
Premier@SodiqTade

Kwankwaso joined the Coalition late after a failed attempt to join APC. He is very calculative. He will most likely end up supporting Peter Obi or Amaechi for the coalition ticket. He knows Tinubu will win them. However, he wants to create his own 2031 pathway with the South.

Say what you will about Amaechi - and there is plenty to say - but the man has never been afraid of a fight. At least he had the balls to participate in a keenly contested primaries and he won a sitting Vice President, a sitting Senate President and a sitting governor among others... Abacha's mentee however, has never had enough liver to compete in the league of real men... A child who refuses to wrestle cannot claim the wrestler's scar.

Let me school your ignorance and jaundiced perception. While Oyetola's issue with Aregbe was part of the misunderstanding, others rested in Lagos APC politics especially Rauf's covet attempts to snatch the Lagos structures from his benefactor and use it for whatever he had perceived or believed was going to come at the APC Convention or presidential primary and after APC might have denied Tinubu its presidential ticket. Also all the offensives against structures (outside Lagos) loyal or allied to Tinubu had the hands of Rauf and PYO in it. They tried to displace the owners of those structures. Holders like Akume, Ganduje, Masari, Wammako, and several others got affected even though they were eventually beaten back to their holes. The tension between Asiwaju and Folarin was because they snatched control of Oyo APC through Teslim Folarin. As for Oyetola and Rauf issue, see, in any political group, or association, or even friendship, one should know his or her place and limits especially when it concerns family. The way you all will come together to collectively "skin" a "non family" is not the same way a matter that involves an actual family member will be handled. That's where Aregbe missed it. With all his closeness to Asiwaju and his influence on most of some of his political decisions, he should have created slacks or exceptions for "family" which is Oyetola in this case and stay focused on the bigger picture which was the actualisation of the Tinubu presidential ambition and the actual destination of the political family.
Ugavrabbi@JubalKraft

@Ade_Nurayn Farce! Aregbe's fallout with BAT was the perceived favouritism to Oyetola, his nephew/cousin in Osun State, against Aregbe's choice of successor as governor, and a takeover of the State's APC structures by Oyetola.

Wait… all these tears because of Peter Obi? 😂 Now let me give you something real to cry about. I don’t believe Peter Obi (ADC) can govern this country and deliver the kind of transformation we actually want. Beyond the alliances with the same recycled wicked political class, I still have his post notifications on from my 2023 fangirl phase and I’ve taken time to read his positions on core economic issues. It’s disappointing 💔💔. Look at his comments on Sani Abacha, the tax bill, and several key policy matters, some of which were quietly deleted. You read them and just think, “nah… this is underwhelming.” 💔 Then there’s the part where we all pretend not to notice his wingmen; Dino Melaye, Nasir El-Rufai, even Atiku Abubakar all orbiting the same movement. Or are we to believe they’ve suddenly become saints cause they now associate with him? At some point, we have to admit we are just repackaging the same old corrupt system that brought us into this mess we are, with a cleaner brand name. And please, we’re past the optics of eating with school children, carrying bags at the airport… that humility theatre. It’s governance we need, not aesthetics. Yes, Bola Tinubu must go. No debate there.❌ Quite frankly, he should never even have happened in the first place‼️ But I wish we didn’t have to repeat the anybody but Jonathan(PDP) situation that made us fall into Buhari’s (APC) laps. I wish we had a real opposition; one rooted in competence, conviction, and the courage to stand against entrenched corruption, not coexist with it. Maybe the 2023 version of Peter Obi felt like that person. But 2027? I’m not convinced. Having doubts about the opposition doesn’t equate being an APC supporter‼️ But if you insist that this stance puts corn in my pocket, then I’ll gladly eat it with beans 🌽😌 Now cry moreeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

DUGURI TRAP: The Day We Turned the Hunters into the Hunted 🔥🇳🇬 It happened in Duguri, Abadam Borno State one of those places in Nigeria where everywhere just looks quiet… but the ground itself knows war. That morning no be normal patrol. Intel land correct one. Not that usual maybe-maybe info. This one clear. Clean. Actionable. For the first time since I was deployed to that place, na dem go waka enter our own trap 🪤. We set up sharp-sharp. No noise. No gra-gra. Everybody dey coded. You fit see am for everybody face this one na business. Even the usual cruise no dey. One of the guys just whisper, “Today go loud…” everyone smile 😊 We wait. Time dey go slow. Sweat dey drop but nobody move. Then we sight them coming with full confidence, unprepared. Loose movement kind. As if na them get the land. I just shake head “Una don enter one chance.” We let them come in. Closer. Closer… Then CONTACT! “Fire!!!” Everything scatter. But this time, no be us dey run helter-skelter. Na them. Confusion just jam them straight. You go see am the moment e click for their head say “we don fall inside trap.” Too late. We pin them down. Cut off their movement. Anywhere you turn na soldier. Fire discipline on point. Coordination clean. No panic. One of our guys shout, “Press them! No give dem space!” Na so we dominate. They tried to escape no way. Tried to regroup impossible. Before everything calm down… over 60 of them don drop. Sixty !!! No stories. No propaganda. Just result. After the smoke clear, we sweep the area. That’s when we see abandoned weapons, their small “hospital,” and even burial ground. Fresh. The beating we gave them earlier don already weaken them… this one just finish the work. One of the boys look around and just say, “Omo… today sweet.” And honestly? He no lie. Because for once, na them carry fear. Na them run. Na them lose everything. We stand there, catching our breath, dust everywhere, heart still racing… but deep down, one thing dey clear: That day for Duguri, we no just fight. We outsmart them. Outplay them. And it's all thanks to our commander because we sure remind them say this land no be for terrorists. Na for Nigeria. 🇳🇬🔥

Ochanya was raped in Benue State. Ozoro festival happened in Delta State. Why is the performative dance of clowns, anti-rape tagged protest, happening in Lagos? Must Lagos always take the fall for the misfortunes of other states? Also, why is it only "Stop raping our daughters"? These are the issues.

5 REASONS WHY THERE IS NO OUTRAGE IN DELTA STATE Our ears have heard. Our eyes have seen. Our hands now write - of the barbarity, the obscenity, the ruthless savagery that was Delta: where what bore the face of a community festival became, in truth, a market of defilement, a theatre of abuse, a carnival of violation against the female body and spirit. But do you know why despite the anomaly of abominable and unspeakable proportions that was witnessed there - The land yet remains quiet and calm? Do you know why your self appointed human rights activists and self-righteous advocates of a moral and just society - the same voices that could rattle the rafters of Alausa over a deleted tweet have swallowed their tongues and haven't threatened to march on Asaba in demand of end of bad governance? FIVE REASONS 1. Because it is not Yoruba-Land. Every voice that rises, rises to liberate the Southwest - and only the Southwest and never their homeland. The events that ignited the Endsars inferno were kindled in Delta, yet it was Lagos that burned. The activists were expected to march toward the wound; instead they marched toward the camera. 2. The Delta-State Government is firm. Your self-anointed saviours of the masses know they will not be invited for state banquets as rewards for embarrassing the state and there will not be awarded gigs as compensation for triggering unrest in the land. Where there is no reward for chaos, chaos finds another address. These professional mourners are not idealists - they are entrepreneurs. And Delta has refused to be a market. 3. Delta is not Kano or Sokoto. There is no opportunity to dress tribal grievance in the robes of religious outrage. Islam-rage is popular and popularity drives traffic and traffic attracts funds... It is never about the victims but about the villains. And since the female victims of Delta do not fit the preferred narrative. They cannot be used to prosecute a religion. And so - they are left where they fell. 4. There are no "Deltans But." Sometimes all the visitors have is a match-stick, it is the internal saboteurs that provide the fuel. Every household that still knows peace knows it for one reason alone: the illegitimate children have not yet come of age. Delta has been spared - not because the matchstick has not arrived, but because no willing hand has risen to ignite it. 5. The Governor's aides are loved at home. This, perhaps, is the most devastating truth of all five. A man who was loved correctly at home does not go searching for relevance in the validation of strangers. The aides in Asaba did not arrive in government hollow - desperate, approval-hungry, easy to manipulate. They did not pander. Not to the disruptors. You cannot bribe a river that is already full - it has nowhere to put what you are offering. CONCLUSION: The Delta State Government must rise with coordination. These animals must be identified. These barbarians must be exposed. These jackals must be apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law. The victims of Delta do not need professional mourners. They do not need imported rage. They do not need men and women who will photograph their tears and invoice the tragedy. What they need is a government that remembers that the first and most sacred duty of power is the protection of the people. Have you subscribed to my page yet? WE ARE ALL LEADERS - JUST KNOW YOUR LEVEL. We are all leaders in our individual rights - Just know your level. In the colony of the skies, every bird holds dominion according to the flight capacity installed within it. The Rüppell's griffon vulture, for instance, will compete favourably against some of the finest aircrafts in the sheer audacity of altitude. It does not merely fly - it rules the upper echelon of the atmosphere, where lesser wings dare not venture. Now imagine a chicken - blessed also with wings, flapping appendages attached to a warm body - deciding that because she too can rise briefly from the earth, she is qualified to challenge such a sovereign of the skies. Even if providence or mischief lifts her to that altitude, she will not survive the encounter. She will suffocate in the thinning air, or bleed into oblivion where no ground exists to receive her fall. Yet understand this: that same chicken, wholly outclassed above, becomes a tyrant on the ground. Against the duck, on the duck's mediocre terrain, she is sovereign. Every creature holds dominion somewhere. The wisdom is not in pretending to be what you are not - it is in knowing precisely where your dominion begins, and where it ends. Know your level. I wrote that parable to say the below: While Asiwaju was communing with world leaders - negotiating at the high altitudes of global consequence, opening new frontiers of opportunity for this nation - another was also communing. Not with presidents. Not with prime ministers. Not with men of civilisational weight. But with one freshly released on bail from custody. The very same figure he had once, with his own mouth and in full public view, branded a structure of criminality. As much as the vulture may still dominate the chicken in its own yard. The chicken cannot ascend to where the vulture breathes. KNOW YOUR LEVEL... Do you get the drift? Good Afternoon Severally...

Me: Why? Dad: Because you’re Alada n la ( your taste is high) Dad: Sha come let me take you. The sun is too much. Well, the money was truly not enough and he saved the day😅
Halimah Ahmed@ahmedhalimah02

Me: Dad I want to make my hair Him : Go and make it now Me: Money Him: How much? Me 3500 ( in my head; attachment x2=800, stylist=1000, transport and miscellaneous =1000. Pocket the rest) Him: Ha! Isn’t it better if you barb it? My barber takes 100, it is when I want to dash him money that I pay 200 Me: OK goes back to my room 30 minutes later Him: Aren’t you making your hair again? Me: But you said I should go and cut it now Him: you better do quick. I will not wait for you o. I’m going to town now. Me : Rushed to the bathroom to take a bath and get ready He drops me at the saloon Him: Call me him when you’re done and gives me 3500 2hrs later he calls, are you done? I’m going home o Me: We’re not even half done. I’ll just meet you at home Him: aren’t you hungry Me: I am very hungry, but I’ll just buy mineral and biscuits. Him: OK don’t stay out too late. Me: OK sir A few moments later he calls again to ask how many of us were in the saloon? My dad brought food for all 3 of us. The woman making my hair asked if he was my boyfriend and I said my Dad, the other lady said maybe she is his only child. This man has 9 of us and he is like that with every single one He went ahead to wait 2 extra hours just to take me home, so I don’t have to go home by myself at night. Also the first to compliment my hair even though he complained about it being too much and too long. That man has loved me my entire life, being actively present and I would give him the entire universe if I could.

Before Ibadan became relevant in Yoruba history, there was a Modakeke-Ife war. After that war the Alaafin, Awujale, Timi of Ede, Basorun Ogunmola and other powerful Yoruba Obas wanted Modakeke erased from Ife because anybody who takes war to Ife has committed blasphemy. Modakeke knew it was living on borrowed time and pledged allegiance to Ibadan for survival. We must separate the pre Kiriji Ife-Modakeke war from the “Kiriji Ife-Modakeke” war.
Olajide Faremi@jfaremi

@AKakanfo Ife moved to Okeigbo during the Kiriji war. The Ife/Modakeke crises can be traced to the spill out of the Ganamu war. Ife became hostile to Ibadan/Oyo influence after the war and that affects the Modakekes. Before Kiriji war, Okeigbo was Ondo control.
