🚨 BREAKING: Gov. Ron DeSantis just FIRED BACK at a group of Florida GOP sheriffs asking President Trump to slow mass deportations "This idea that unless you're an axe m*rderer, you should be able to stay? That is NOT consistent with our laws, and it's also not good policy." "To send a LETTER to him asking him to go back on his campaign promises?!" "You can't let Biden bring in 10 MILLION and we're not allowed to REMOVE them!" "We have different people that are victimized by illegal aliens every day in this country!" "Not all of them have criminal records at the time, in fact, probably most of them don't. But under some view, it's like, okay, yeah, you come illegally, and then you stay until you commit a really violent crime. That just doesn't work." "It's incoherent, and it's not what the president ran on. To send a letter to him asking him to go back on his campaign policies, I would not advise that to be done."

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's approval rating has plummeted from a record high of 79.5% to 56.0% with disapproval skyrocketing from 15.0% to 35.9%. This comes after she refused to establish a cap on immigration despite winning a supermajority on an Anti immigration platform.

The company behind POM juice, a juice marketed as a superfood antioxidant-rich drink, was just named California’s 2nd-largest user of paraquat — one of the most toxic herbicides still allowed in the U.S. Over 56,000 pounds sprayed in a single year… on crops used to make this so called health drink. Paraquat has been linked to Parkinson’s disease, cancer, and neurological damage. It drifts into nearby communities and lingers in soil for years. More than 60 countries have already banned it. So why is it still being used here? Help us continue the work to get these chemicals out of our food supply. [momsacrossamerica.com/monthly_donati…]

I had no idea about this, literally had a glass of this juice today. Paraquat is far far worse than glyphosate, have heard of plenty folks personally affected by it. If you drink POM I strongly suggest you find an alternative like a hand held juicer along with actual pomegranates or Lakewood Organic Pomegranate Juice.

I once saw these words carved into a wooden cross in a small chapel: “Christ beside me, Christ within me, Christ to shield, and Christ to win me.” Beautiful, humble words that have helped me be ready for life and adventure.

Like, what’s even the point of statements like that? No one can ever completely conquer anyone forever. Nobody actually needs that. It’s extremely rare for one nation to permanently conquer a territory while still having their own homeland. Occupation is always temporary.

@brianbuck4 @MichealMartinTD @POTUS That doesn’t work anymore. I didn’t write history but am damn proud of my people. And, as it relates to this conversation, the Irish have a right to live amongst themselves without explanation. Full stop.

@brianbuck4 @MichealMartinTD @POTUS The immigrants that built this country were almost entirely free White men of good moral character. That is not what is flooding into Europe or America today. also, the rate at which Ireland is being flooded matters. As does it's size and age.

I've brought it up before, but this is a good time to mention it again: "Fair trade" isn't. We started buying these beans when the roaster brought the plantation owner to visit with members of our community. He had been doing the traditional thing -- selling his beans to the large coffee companies. His first trip to the US, he was appalled when he saw what those companies were selling their coffee for, and the horrible things they'd done to it. Additives. Fillers. Beans that had sat on humid docks for months, shipped to the US, where they sat in non-climate-controlled docks and then warehouses for more months, and sometimes more than a year, before being roasted, processed, and packaged, where the product then sat for even more months before hitting stores, where it might sit an additional month or so before being put on the shelf. He was getting less than a dollar a pound. His family routinely had to ask for donations from his local community to afford clothes and books for his kids to attend school. He raised the issue with the companies he was supplying. One of them offered to let him sign a "fair trade" agreement. How fair was it? He'd get an extra quarter a pound. In return, the company got right of refusal on shipments. And, if they refused a shipment, he was contractually prevented from selling the harvest to anyone else. In short, it screwed him worse. It didn't benefit him at all. He looked for an alternative. The roaster offered it: The roaster would buy his harvest as soon as it was ready. It'd be shipped to NY or VA, and the roaster would drive to the dock and pick it up. Days, not months, would pass before the roaster got the beans. The roaster would roast the beans and sell them. The plantation owner went from making less than a dollar a pound to over $4 a pound. And the pride of knowing his beans were going to people who appreciated the quality, and were arriving fresh, not stale and moldy. He no longer had to beg to be able to send his extended family's kids to school. The plantation owner and his family benefit greatly. The roaster benefits by being able to supply a great quality product at a reasonable price. His customers benefited by getting outstanding coffee for cheap. And his customer base grew rapidly. The roaster calls it "free trade" coffee. Everyone involved calls it a huge win. Stop buying "fair trade" coffee. It isn't fair. The only ones benefiting are the large industrial coffee corporations.

I find the coffee data interesting. As I've mentioned in the past, I buy beans obtained directly from a single-source, family-owned plantation in Honduras, and roasted by a small, family-owned roaster, then delivered to our door. So fresh the beans are still wet. We've done so -- same beans, same roaster -- for almost 15 years now. We buy 15-20 lbs at a time. In that time, the cost has risen $2/lb. Over almost 15 years. And that was due entirely to the roaster needing to increase prices due to some expansion in capabilities and product line. Went from $12/lb to $14/lb. For beans that are higher quality, much fresher, and handled better than any commercial coffee, or even the so-called "boutique" coffees many outlets sell online. The problem isn't the commodity. The problem is the industry.
