@MikeFamilyFarm Not possible on some farms here. We have to drive the carts loaded half a mile away on one farm before it’s wide and clear enough line of sight to give cars time to stop.

@HowFarmsWork We fix up a driveway every year to accommodate not ever loading on the road. Eventually we will have all truck accessible farms. At least back a truck in and load off the road. Have neighbors that load on the road and frankly its a bad look for ag if there is another way.

5 years of driving our own truck and never had an incident of people being impatient to get around while loading. Just had the third person this year get out of their vehicle in less than 20 seconds of waiting. Two minutes. That’s all I need.

@farmerjim13 @clintwfischer I would say you’re owed something if you’ve been putting in work for most of your life. But, there is a difference between those that demand reparations and those that know they will get them based on family dynamics over the years.

@clintwfischer A lot of families are in a very similar scenario, including mine. The main thing I takeaway is no matter if I inherit anything or not, it's not my decision, I am not owed anything. It is a privilege to continue on something, not a given right. If they want to sell it all, fine.

You're going to inherit an operational farm. Land, buildings, equip, livestock are worth ~$10 million. No debt. How much cash/stocks should your non-farm sister inherit for things to be "fair?"

@FarmHendrickson @JohnDeere Our 7600 has a plastic flip piece that can accommodate two different sized cups. Sweetest design I’ve seen yet but I think that was aftermarket.

@CBKimbrell @MattHintz3 I use a pair of Bose quiet comfort earbuds. Reduces noise in most cases plus I can listen to music.

@MattHintz3 I used to have a set of shooting muffs that detected loud sound and silenced it. When it was quiet, you could hear ordinary conversation with them on. I wonder if there’s a similar thing in hearing aids

I’m guessing that half of you farmers on Twitter have some sort of hearing issue. Of that half, 75% are in denial like me. I’m thinking about looking into treatment for hearing loss and tinnitus. Any recommendations/suggestions?

@HogstromMikael @ImpenitentThief @TommyTucker091 @joseletemuniz 96% of the weight in solar panels is glass which can’t be reused. Suddenly after recycling a few panels you’re left with disposing more low quality glass than you can afford to.

@RogerGreeson @jr_womack My guy, if you get out and see first hand how they’re constructing the solar in our area you’d know that they’re completely destroying the fertility of the land. You’re looking at future subdivisions when the money is out of renewables and moves to nuclear.

@HowFarmsWork @jr_womack Makes no difference. Over taxing our farm ground unnecessarily to prop up stock values of multinational machinery, seed and chemical companies is criminal. We are destroying the long term health of our agricultural lands for short term profits. We must change direction.

Just a few years ago, this was productive farm land, producing food and fuel. Today, well, you can charge your phone while trying to forget the hunger you are experiencing. #GreenEnergy

@RogerGreeson @jr_womack Every single study I’ve found completely leaves out the fact that corn raised for ethanol makes a slew of other byproducts. The one you referenced included. Funny they never include the CO2 cost of harvesting the materials to produce solar.

Time to bust a myth: "Non-family corporate farms are taking over agriculture" is a myth. The truth: • 98% of farms are family owned • Families incorporate their farm for many reasons It's like saying mega corporations are taking over Etsy because every seller is an LLC...

@d33r3driv3r @clintwfischer I do. If the minority of the people involved to make the business run are family, I don’t consider them a family business. Like someone else said, Walmart is still considered a family owned business. A more fair number would use the metrics I stated but there’s no available data.

@ediecreekangus The idea is to be able to figure out which one she is when she’s in the chute. I don’t make culling decisions when she’s in the pasture. They all still get ID tags.

@HowFarmsWork Interesting. Have you had RFID tags stay in with success? If a cow just has an RFID tag, how can you tell who she is if she’s out in a pasture group and needs some future consideration (treatments or culling)? Just wondering how the RFID tags will be able to replace dangle tags.

Did our annual replacing missing and broken Ztags. We can send tourists to space…but a cow tag that lasts….🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Anybody have a tag they are happy with?
