I noticed BBM entered his inaugural rally surrounded by a phalanx of red-shirted men. Sara Duterte later urged the crowd: “We must protect Bongbong Marcos”. It seems the tactic is succeeding in keeping tough questions well away from him👇🏼

The south eastern deep water entry point to Scarborough Shoal now blockaded by a barrier. This is the only part that deep hull boats can enter the lagoon. When I visited with @virmasimonette in 2021 we were shooed away from this entry point by a Chinese maritime militia boat.

Philippine Coast Guard shared a video showing an installed floating barrier in the southeastern area of Bajo de Masinloc Shoal. Agency said this barrier was installed by the China Coast Guard.
